PrettyScrappy.com: A Statement From Our Team of Designers

The nerve of some people! I can't believe how shady the whole thing is! So sorry to all the designers affected :(!

shocked here as well. and infuriated!! i know i don't know you designers here 'personally' but i come to think of you as my friends and this is not fair to you guys. i just don't know how someone can do that! its rude!

Thanks so much for your words of support, kindness and outrage on our behalf girls. It means the world to our entire team.

How infuriating! I'm sorry you're dealing with this and even more sorry that the store doesn't seem to care that it's happening. :( Kudos to Robin for handling this with the professionalism I've come to expect from SSD. *hugs*

Unbelievable!!!! Sorry to hear about this... The store owner is really unbelievable!!!!

I've never bought anything there, but I DO have an account, which will NEVER be used (was going to cancel but I'm not seeing that as an option over there)

Hi,
I don't know if it could help you but I cancel my account just a few hours ago.:cursing:
I had to log-in and then I went on the store's page and in the left colomn, there is a option "delete profile", you just have to confirm and it's ok, the account is deleted (I check it to be sure).
I totally agree with you.
Have a nice day:wub:

Thanks! I was only looking in the forum :)

Man, we haven't had to deal with this in a while (I don't think anyway) but every time we do I'm just so disgusted by the people that do this. It's so enraging!!

I love Robin, I love the incredible designers here, and I love this community for being a strong, honest, incredible place. I am disheartened by the piracy, but I am HONORED to be a part of this amazing site!!!

I am so sad and mad for all the designers who have had their work stolen. So much work goes into these kits, its completely evil for someone to take it and place their name on it and sell it. I am so sorry for everyone. I hope this matter will be resolved and I am so glad you brought it to all of our attention. People like that need to be called out on it. And it gives us all a heads up to keep our eye out for it.

Thank you for putting this out there. I would hate to buy from a store like that without knowing about it.

This is so awful. I cannot believe the nerve of the designer and even more so, the owner. Such a lack of integrity. So sorry you are having to deal with this at all! I hope they have learned and will stop.

First, sorry you all have had/have to go through this. Big hugs to you all.

Second, I am truly in awe of Robin's professionalism and support of rallying behind the team here at SSD.

Although, it is of little comfort to the present situation, it makes me feel so good that my dollars are spent here where there are original and honest designs being sold.

I don't think I could say it better. I am so sorry Robin and the designers have had this experience, and I am very grateful that you have brought it to our attention in such a professional way only after attempting multiple times to correct the situation with the store and the owner. Your behavior and attitude are a shining example.

This is awful! I haven't heard of this other site and I will not be supporting them either. The designer's actions are one thing but the owners are another after she was presented with proof of her designer's actions.

And yes... this is an established site but you've (owner, designers, and the team) have worked hard to make it so and I don't think that you are a Big Bad Store for standing up for your site and designers.

Thanks for making us aware of this situation.

I want to start off by saying how well I think you handled this, Robin. I own BrownieScraps and we actually had a run in with this same designer a year ago. She participated in our design challenges which were CU free, they had to create their own CU. Part way through, it was very obvious that she was using CU product from other designers and claiming it as her own. Upon confronting her, she denied it and stuck to her guns. It was our opinion that it was bad enough to participate in a challenge where you couldn't use CU and then use it, but what was worse was that she was violating the TOU's of the designers she had stolen CU from. We ended up banning her from the site and the challenge, because we just didn't feel it was professional or ethical to have her connected with us in any way. So, while I am not surprised by what I read here, I am saddened that the store owner Robyn now associates with would not do more to separate herself from it. I'm glad to know and will not have anything to do with Pretty Scrappy. I don't even know if I've been there yet, but it's good to know!

I'm so sorry to that all your designers have had to deal with this. You all do such beautiful work! This is one of my favorite places to come shop when I have scrapping time! I'm just sad that someone would so blatantly take advantage!

Wow, this is just disgusting, disheartning and plain WRONG. i don't know how people sleep at night knowing that they are stealing from another designer. it's so unfortunate that they get to hide behind their computer monitor and do whatever they want with no consequences. Some people have no integrity at all and it makes me sick.

Wow. She's got some big brass ones. Why on earth would anyone want to be a designer *that* badly????

Thank You for bringing this to our attention...and you did it in a very professional way.
This not only affects the designers, it affects the customers AND the other designers at that store. I already do 90% of my shopping here and it looks like that might be the way it will stay.
BIG HUGS to the designers this has affected...I can only imagine just how very frustrated and probably just plain old pissed off you have been.

Disgusting. Just disgusting. And to not kick her out of the store for good? Disgusting.

Robin, thank you for taking care of the designers here and making this a wonderful place on the web.

Designers, I am so sorry this has happened. Please don't get too discouraged. Think about all of the people here who truly care about you and love your designs.

WOW! That's just plain awful! I do think this was handled appropriately btw... you tried to discuss it with the store owner and instead of doing the right thing, they sided with a pirate. We'll continue to keep our eyes peeled, but sorry to hear this happened.

I was so sad when I first heard about this. Thank you for sharing and for handling this, Robin.

Stinks that it's even an issue... gah.

Just wanted to add something...PrettyScrappy was part of ADSR this year and they had a prize for completeing a challenge. Not sure if other people have downloaded it or not. I never got around to it and dont plan to now.

Its a bit shocking, but I can believe it. People are so corrupted. I'm very sadden to hear that the store backed her up in the end. That is so wrong. I'm sorry to you guys here that were all affected. It makes me sad to even know the store you guys are talking about but I do. I don't shop a lot of places and am glad that here is one.
And to think this evil human is called a designer. And has done it at other places previously. I wish there was a list of humans like this one so we could know who to make sure never to buy from/talk to/etc.
Thank you for making it public and letting us know.

Wow, I was shocked before - I didn't think I could be even more shocked now. Totally unbelievable!

honestly, how do people like this sleep at night? You guys totally did the right thing by letting us know what the story was. Now I know to stay away from both that designer and the site!

I almost hate to say I am a designer at Pretty Scrappy, but I am too, sick to my stomach. I actually noticed that Robin was not in the store anymore, nor are her things and wondered what the deal was. I design under the name, Teri's Thing-O-My-Jigs and I will be contacting Julie. I do this for fun and although I am a small designer, and have been established at Pretty Scrappy for about 3 years now, I will be talking to Julie tonight and will have to ask to leave the store. I sell at GingerScraps too and will have to just be happy with one store for now. There is no amount of money that would keep me at a store where the integrity is questioned. I am sorry for you, the designers that were put through this, and wanted you to know, that I for one, will have to do what is right. Thank you for bringing it to my attention in a professional manner. I just deleted everything off my ftp and am letting Julie know now. I will make sure my customers get any links that are due them. Thank you again and I wanted you to know, there are many good designers there that will suffer from this. :)T

I am so sick. Seriously. I was at pretty scrappy because of Teri and my love for her and I am removing all of my layouts, etc. I do hate it hurt the good ones like Teri but I know she will do fine at gingerscraps or where ever she goes next. Wow I am just in shock.

I am so sorry guys. :( It is sad, just sad.

When I heard about this, I simply had to come and see the truth for myself. I wasn't even registered here - but I wanted to commiserate with all the designers that this affected, as well as the store ... truly there are just no words for this! I have to say that the information was presented in an extremely professional manner and I think it's so sad that it had to come to this for all concerned.

Teri, I want to applaud you taking action so quickly! I absolutely would have done the same thing were I in your shoes. It's all very upsetting, and I'm sure this was very difficult for you to do after such a long affiliation. (((Big Hugs)))
