PrettyScrappy.com: A Statement From Our Team of Designers

P.S. Sorry if the joke's silly, but the site -- or rather, the owner plus that one designer -- might be renamed to Pretty Crappy. :-)

I know at this time it's not a big comfort, but isn't imitation the highest form of flattery? Yup, it's still disgusting, and it's still not right, but this helps to cool the rage. I know what I'm talking about, when I was still writing fanfiction I once found a poem of mine, copied word by word, posted by another title at another's writer's profile. The site in question deleted the post right after I reported it, but I can remember how I was shaking with rage. I can also remember that what I found especially atrocious was that the plagiator made a typo in her title (the only part that was hers). In the end I found the whole story amusing, but at the phase when I was still devastated at the "how can anyone do something like this?" I tried to comfort myself with that "highest form flattery" dogma and it kind of helped. Nobody would steal someone's work and try to earn money by selling it if they didn't thought it was good.

Hugs to all of you girls.

P.S. I still find the owner's behaviour more appalling than the designer's. Maybe not a good parallel, but a kid can do mischief, but a parent should not. When this happened to me as a fanfic writer, the site in question dealt with it professionally. But to cover such a behaviour - yuck!!!

thanks for the heads up and WOW...just WOW, I can't believe people would blantely do something liek that! I support all the designer's here and am all about spendning my money here :)

This is just sickening Robin... thank you for letting us know. I know that I am happy to support you and the designers here in any way that I can!

I, too, am sitting here with my jaw on the floor. I don't see how people can do stuff like this & sleep at night! (((hugs))) to all of our amazing designers here @ Sweet Shoppe, & to you Robin, for handling this so professionally.

Big hugs:hugs:.. pirates suck and to add insult to injury.. the store owner not taking care of it is really appalling too!

:cursing:The first thing I just done after reading this post is deleting my account at their shop.
I just bought an item a long time ago so I didn't see the lasts ones and I'm feeling very angry to see what happen!
It's just totally disgusting and bad.
I don't write very often here but I feel I have to when reading you and I want to send all my support for all the lovely team!
I'm sad and sorry for you all.
I'll be very attentive and keep my eyes wides open.
I know digital piracy exist and unfortunately will continue but in this case, it's just incredibly unprofessional and unbearable.
Hugs and love to my favorite shop, you are the Best!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still in shock that this is still happening out there. Especially the items not even changed, just stuck in there without any changes...WOW!

we talked about this at Penny's forum and I think it just totally sucks....why would someone think they could get away with this and then get caught and not to a darn thing about it, how much lower can you get!!!

You know I support all of you and I hope this all gets resolved soon!!!

I think you did a great job stating your case professionally, Robin. So sorry this has happened to all of you!

WOW! Thats just blatant - Reinforces my desire to limit where I shop.. Mostly here (like 90%). Just amazing at the gall of some people - get an original thought!!!!

Wow, this is really disappointing and disgusting to read. I really appreciate you going public with this so that we know what is going on at that site. I am not only apalled at the lack of professionalism of the owner on the other site, but also that the kits used were PIRATED. I mean, that's just so disgusting. Truly.

oh wow. :( How sad! I am sooo sorry for all of you designers. I know it's never good to have to deal with these issues. So sorry guys. :( boohiss on not cool people!

Big HUGS to Robin and all the SSD designers! You guys are the best! I think it's great that you tried to handle it privately first. But, in the end, I don't think you had any choice but to go public with it. You know we all love you - keep doing what you're doing cause you guys do it the best! :)

This is why I don't sell templates anymore. You see something put out days after you do with one thing shifted....and due to the nature of templates there's pretty much nothing you can do. The hassle wasn't worth the money earned. I hope that's not the case for any of you.
I truly feel horrible for all the girls here for this gross injustice. Some people have no integrity.

So very unfortunate. :-( I'm sad for the designers who have had their stuff ripped off by some dishonest person. And it's really unfortunate that the store owner didn't want to make the situation right.

I can't say that I am surprised at this. People who do this kind of crap are the lowest of the low and it makes me furious that it still continues.

I think you lovelies here have EVERY right to publicly point this out. I admire you for trying to handle it privately, but since the other side didn't have the integrity to take care of it on their end - then I think you have every right to bring it to our attention.

You know that you have my support and if I ever see anything out of sorts, I will certainly come to you about it.

Wow. wow. Its horrible that a so-called designer would do that, but the store owner not handling it professionally is really bad too :(

So sorry you guys are going through all this. This is why I only shop here and hang here. I trust you girls fully!

I think this is horrible. I am so sorry for everyone affected. While I know there are pirates out there, to blatently take things from someone else that are not CU and put them in kits unaltered is brazen at best.

I think the store owner's did not handle this well, and I'm sorry to everyone who worked so hard, only to have their work ripped off. I'll be keeping my eyes open for sure. ((hugs)) to all of the designers affected.

First, sorry you all have had/have to go through this. Big hugs to you all.

Second, I am truly in awe of Robin's professionalism and support of rallying behind the team here at SSD.

Although, it is of little comfort to the present situation, it makes me feel so good that my dollars are spent here where there are original and honest designs being sold.

Robin, thank you for handling yourself and this site so professionally. To the designers who were ripped off, I am so sorry that you were used this way.

I know there are pirates out there, and always will be...but the fact that their store owner would act in such a manner...is absolutely wrong.
I've never bought anything there, but I DO have an account, which will NEVER be used (was going to cancel but I'm not seeing that as an option over there)

Wow...That is seriously tacky all the way around...Sorry you laides are experiencing such unprofessionalism...heck if people can't come up with their own designs they shouldn't try to be designers...

WOW. I saw this on Mellissa's FB page and wondered what had happened. Just crazy...and I cannot believe that store owner!

Maybe I shouldn't be, but I am shocked! Not that it goes on, but that someone would be sooooo blatant. Unbelievable.

Wow, my mouth was agape with shock reading this. I know this is not the first or the last time that piracy will touch the digi world but in general the store owner has been nothing but supportive to the wronged designer. To back up and conspire to cover up with a designer who pirated items is just wrong. The lowest of the low and I think that Robin handle everything with extreme tact and professionalism and was no consideration back in return. So sad!

I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this kind of situation. :crying:
This is incredibly disgusting. (((HUGS))) to you all.

I want to say that I appreciate your (Robin and all SSD designers) hard work for make this place the best place to shop my digital supplies and being around. It's an honor to me to work w/ some of the SSD designers. I wanna thank you all for that and send all my love to you.
I hope you can resolve this situation the better way possible.

OMG. :cursing:

That is so terrible, and so very obvious that those are NOT cu items and stolen and copied :crying:

I am so sorry for you all that are affected, and most definitely support this public posting, I think its best for the truth to be told. :hugs:
