A Week in Life.. chatter thread

Awesome pictures, Traci.

Thanks to Lightroom, I just got mine all edited and uploaded to Flickr from Monday. I've only got 14, but hopefully Colby took some decent one's yesterday. I kept reminding him, but I'm not sure he actually did it. lol. Here's mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43548162@N02/sets/72157629527173386/

PS- Plus ignore the bad picture of me with my hair in a towl, no make-up. It's shot from a bad angle with bad lighting. It will be amazing if it makes the final cut, but I'm trying to be real. lol.

I'm still going fairly strong. I took 18 yesterday and have taken like 5 or 6 so far today. Like Traci, I'm doing total instagram with my phone. Easy peasy. I need to make a list of some things I want to be sure to capture because my life is pretty mundane: change diapers, feed baby, clean the house, try to work, repeat.

My family has already had it with me and my camera/phone. I'm trying to take photos showing actions versus making my family constantly feel like they need to be smiling. Took some "filler" pictures this morning as I'm working a really long day today. I won't be home until 9pm or later. Hopefully someone at home will remember to pick up the camera and take a few shots of something going on. Otherwise it will be lots of journaling. :)

My son is too! I tried to get a picture of them walking into the school this morning. I was trying to be discreet but he heard me roll down the window. So you see him as a blur but my daughter walking normally. I guess that tells it's own story :D

My kids are getting in to it and hamming it up for the camera when ever I ask them. I just explained that they will find this interesting some day in the future the way they like to look back now at their baby pictures.

My 14 year old son was over it before I finished taking the first picture!!!

I think I took 115 yesterday! Oops. In my defense, some were things like DD jumping on a trampoline that needed a bunch of shots to get 1 decent one. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I might have taken fewer photos today. Might have, LOL.

I'm taking mostly shots of the kids involved in things (ie, not looking at the camera) and detail shots without any people, but my kids were also over it before I took the first photo.

Amber, yours is still saying private, no authorization.

I haven't uploaded from yesterday yet... or today. I think I took more yesterday but we were a little busier.

I uploaded yesterday, not today though....but I did journal yesterday and will journal tonight before I go to bed!

I am done scrapping 2 pages for Monday! Not sure if that's the final look of the page, but it's a start!

Ok.. here's my bare bone pages. I might add few more things later on as final touches. But I'm happy with the way it turned out so far. I have few more pages in process, such as cover page and back page along with Highlights of the week, Food of the week, fashion of the week... but they won't get done till end of the week.

It comes up private page for me too Amber. It asked me to log into my Flickr account but after I did that it said private page

Okay, I got one day done :p

I think so far, I'm the most proud that I'm being real. For example, I don't wear makeup daily. So I haven't put any on. I probably will at some point during the week, but it's not part of my daily routine. It's hard seeing an 8x8 photo of myself with no jewelry or makeup on, but hey, that's what I look like first thing in the morning :D

Also, Naomi changes clothes...CONSTANTLY. And in one day, she's in 3 different photos with 3 different outfits on. Which I actually find hilarious, until I'm doing the laundry : sigh :

Love yours Lena. I am having a problem in that I'm at work Monday to Friday and as I teach I can't take photographs for security reasons. I did quickly snap my 'working on my computer eating my lunch' lunch on Monday but now each day is the same. Then the weather is appaling here now and even taking Haggis out for his walk is done with wellies on and my hood up and literally sprinting along the street to the field and scooting back as soon as he is done. I've taken a few photographs of evening stuff but today for example I have 3 photographs (and on of those is the clock!) and it's after 7PM and getting dark. The weekend will be more action packed but some days are going to look a little bare :)

I'm the same way. All of my days are the same. I did my Monday pages, and it would seem like rest of the week will end up the same way! lol I'm trying to spread out routine/boring stuff over next five days. Here's my Monday pages:

I have a photo of green smoothie on Monday. Now, this morning, I took a photo of my blender while I was making the smoothie. So, photo on Monday is of the same routine as Wednesday but I have 2 different pics.

For Monday, I have photo of my son doing homework and I took his photo yesterday when he fell a sleep while reading his book (which was part of his homework). ;)

Yesterday, I had my son take my photo while I was scrapping my Monday pages. ;) It's been fun trying to be creative while documenting daily boring/routine life.

Andrea, I understand! This time last year I was working outside of the house, and my work would have been the same way. Same stuff all day long and no cameras allowed :) Maybe you can focus on your evenings and mornings for now? :)

Thanks, everyone, especially to Lynnette...because I bought the templates I can scrap mine like yours! I've never been a big fan of completely graphic photo projects until I saw yours!

Aww thanks, Lena! Glad I could help! :D

You know, I never checked! But I did notice with some of the other camera apps the resolution changes. But usually when I get new apps I always make sure to save in the app's highest settings. Hmm. *goes off to double-check*

So I've been curious about this, so I did a little research. Here's my results in case anyone was curious as well.

I'm using an iPhone 4S and Instagram v2, so if you're not, your sizing will be different. I tested this using the default Camera app, Camera+ and Instagram, with all the settings set to save the max resolution possible.

Here were my results (all in pixels):
Apple Camera App only: 3264x2448 (max iPhone 4S size - 8MP)
Camera App photo imported into Instagram: 1264x1264

Camera+ only: 3264x2448 (max iPhone 4S size)
Camera+ photo imported into Instagram: 1361x1361
(Oh and if you accidentally end up in burst mode, your photos end up super tiny - 480x480px once imported into Instagram. I don't recommend doing that. :D)

Photo taken with Instagram: 2048x2048 (max Instagram size for the 4S, it's lower for the iPhone 4 & 3Gs)

Soooo...apparently the output size in Instagram does depend on what app you use to take the photo. The good news is that all of the photo sizes are over 4x4 inches at 300 ppi so they should still be easily scrap able. You can also set up Instagram to save a full resolution copy in addition to the edited version when you take a photo using Instagram rather than importing a photo into it if you want a bigger size.
