I was born and raised in Southeastern Arizona (near Ft. Huachuca, but not military). Went to college just over an hour away in Tucson, AZ where I went to college and met my husband. After we graduated we moved out here to southern New Hampshire. I'd never been further east than New Mexico until we were literally driving across the country on our move.
To the lady from New England who wants to go west, it is brown.

I'd never seen green nor seasons until we moved here, and I have trouble imagining going back. And even if it's a dry heat, 100+ degrees is still miserably hot, and the monsoons are wicked humid too.

The desert does have its beauties, but I still can't get over how amazing seasons are.
