Summer Bucket List

Now that both of my children are grown, the summer bucket list doesn't work for us anymore. I did really good in 2013 . . . making the list and then actually DOING stuff on the list and then scrapping about some of it.

This year, I'd like to do a lot of water related things, like going to the beach, river, creek, lake, and pool now that I'm feeling better BUT I have to spread that out and then determine what works best. The beach is awesome, but walking across a long stretch of sand and then fighting the waves isn't the best thing for my back, so we might stick with the soundside and then do the river, creek, lake, and pool.

I also have some friends that I want to make sure I see this summer. I always say I'm going to see them, but I never end up scheduling it. Right now, I'm thrift shopping with one of my cousins this week as well as a separate thrift shopping trip with my MIL and my niece and her family. I also have a lunch date with one of my friends from high school.

I also want to read a lot this year. I want to finish the current cross stitch piece that I'm working on, and start a new one. I have a paint-by-number of a peacock that I want to finish as well.

Around the house, I need to clean out cabinets and dishes and then organize those areas as well as my office. I've got paperwork stashed here and yon that I need to take care of. I have a lot of books that I've purchased from library book sales, and I want to remove the plastic sleeves and stickers from the books so they look better on my bookshelves. I am also working on updating the books on my shelves at home that I haven't read yet, as well as a comprehensive list of ALL the books I have and where they are located. This is important because I've ended up purchasing books again. It works out OK as I pass it along to family and friends, but I could have bought a new book if my lists were updated!

This summers plans:

Disney trip with the whole fam and new grandbaby
An old fashioned 4th of July picnic n pool party
My last chemo!!!!!!!!!!
Spending time with grand baby
swimming lots
Bon Jovi concert in New York
Read some new books
hoping my energy comes back to do some walking and hikes again

Avoiding the heat as much as possible 😂

I don't have a lot on our to-do list currently but I'm hoping to find some more things to add.

Visit the Frost Museum in Miami
Pizzeria Uno's for my mama's birthday in Orlando
Family Cafe (disability conference) in Orlando
Keys Aquarium Encounter
-- stingray encounter with the mini me
Barnes & Noble summer reading list/bracket for the kiddo
-- picking up a free book when he's read his 8 books (or had technology read them to him)

More. . .day. . .trips! I took my first one Memorial Day weekend to see a waterfall (yes, I'm chasing them). I have a list of things around Ohio that I'm working on seeing.
More hiking! I did a five mile moderate yesterday, and I'm not too sore today. I'm working on my stamina.
A concert in Baltimore with my daughter (if she still wants me to go).
I might take in a baseball game if my sister gets tickets again.
Amusement parks. My season pass gets me into all Six Flags parks this year, so I might want to go to King's Island.

I never really have a summer bucket list...
But vague plans are to:
- do as much yoga outside as weather and temperature will allow
- spend time on the deck

And one small trip planned to go see Foo Fighters (with Queens of the Stone Age oopening) in Toronto 😃

If you put the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum on that list, let me know. I live in that town and could meet up with you. It is worth the visit! Then a little over an hour south of me is the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum that I hear is fantastic.

As for me, bucket list trip #1: Canadian Rockies by train. Leave in 13 days!
Bucket list trip #2: Trip through the Painted Canyons aka Utah national parks happens in Sept.
Genealogy research trip to Ft. Wayne the end of June.
Otherwise, not much. Could possibly do other things if something comes up that I'm interested in.

Those sound great! I'll have to add them to my list. I think the closest I was to you was when I visited the Caverns which is about an hour away.
Have fun on your trips!

My summer bucket list are to stay home, tend to my plants, read/listen books, day trips to near by cities, zoo, and to scrap my pl, and also to visit parks nearby.

But my daughter and my husband has a different idea of summer and I'm already exhausted for next week. My daughter has planned her summer around going to a 3 day otacon, and we need to fly.

But I have already psych myself about it since April and also it's a chance for me to collect memories and photos to scrap 🤣🤣

A two week road trip in California, starting in LA and ending in Portland, hitting every National Park on the way that we can! A little nervous about the two nights in Yosemite at the Curry Village, there may be riots from the teenagers. I guess the good news is I snagged a heated tent so there's at least one lightbulb and one electrical outlet!

This area of the state has some great things considering it is more rural. People who enjoy boating are lucky in that they have 2 great options relatively close. One about 15 minutes, the other about 30 minutes away. And, if you enjoy football, a tour of the Wilson Factory in Ada is a must! I went there in March and it was so neat getting to watch how the footballs are made for the NFL and learning the history of the company. And, history buffs can visit county museums that highlight the history of the county. Saw the Hardin County museum the same day as Wilson. My county actually has several museums located in different towns in the county. There is a pretty neat historical museum in Lima that highlights Allen County. It has an authentic Conestoga Wagon that brought early settlers to the county from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I am a descendant of that family (along with many others in Allen and Auglaize counties, they had a large family who each also had large families (Auglaize county was originally a part of Allen county along with several others). Quite the rich history here which includes Native American.

I wished I had the uhmm well guts is the wrong word, but I can't seem to find the right one atm...we had a very rough year (and it's still not over yet) with our 3 kids. Lots have happened so we're a bit stuck in making big plans. At the beginning of july we're going to see a marching band competition (The Blue Devils) which my BF loves to watch when they are coming to the Netherlands. Further...we're planning on staying home this year and and and...the BF is going to see a "new" boat tonight with his best friend so maybe we'll have a "new" boat in the next couple of days

Save money! LOL! Seriously, that's what we decided for ours with grad party, and we just had to buy a new mower and a big vet bill.

But, we are planning to go to a Tigers game for my DH's father's day present, we just haven't picked the date yet and maybe trip to this big flea market about 2 hours away.

Otherwise, we're hoping just to enjoy the backyard & the pool, play plenty of board games, and just chill.

This is probably our most boring summer ever, but for a good reason (we are saving for a wedding this fall).
We did our big travel in April/May, so this summer doesn't have any (or many) fun events planned.

We need to find a new to us vehicle. This is probably number 1 on the list of things to do! The girls are planning on flying to KS to visit their sister for a week visit. One of the girls wants to go to Lake Michigan for a day trip sometime this summer. We are basically saving money and time off for the busyness of this fall!

Seriously we have grad parties every single weekend until the middle of July and then a week in Maine. I remember the days when we would do up 1 bucket list activity each day... wow... they were fun but it felt like a full time job!
