RQOTD: Ramen Noodles

LOL. I love these random discussions.
I actually just made myself some of these for lunch yesterday (we dont eat them often here but I happened to have them in the pantry). I added mushrooms and green onions (and maybe celery? I can't remember!) and crab meat to them while they were cooking in the water, and added the seasoning to the water and ate them as a soup.

I drain all the water. Add about tbsp of butter and season pack and mix it up. We eat it like seasoned noodles NOT soup. :P Oh and the chicken flavor is my fav.

Back in the day when I was a broke college student trying to eat.........I would drain the noodles and add seasoning pack and some BBQ sauce to make it like BBQ chicken. I loved it then. The thought of that now makes me want to hurl. LOL

I should also add that I make a grown-up version 'asian noodle bowl' for DH and I. Rich flavored vegetarian 'Fu' broth, stir fried veggies, fresh cilantro and basil, tofu. I use noodles from the Asian grocer. 'Noodle Nests', 'Chow Mein', 'Udon'. If I had an Asian market close by, I would totally be buying those fresh Udon noodles. YUM!

I never use the seasoning. If I want to use them in soup I boil them in broth &then add meat & grated carrots or zucchini or mushrooms & sometimes an egg. If I just want noodles I boil them, drain them and then stir in some oyster sauce or a little chili oil or some other seasoning.
