NSBR--Appendix question

Glad to hear it's not her appendix and she's doing better. Hope you can find out what the problem is.

I'm glad she is feeling better! I hope you get an answer tomorrow -the not knowing thing is the worst!!

My Pediatrician said a good test of appendicitis is to have them stand on one leg and jump - if they have appendicitis they can't do it because it is so painful.

She's been fine though since this am...I guess the acid reducer worked for now...Just waiting for her appt in the am

And hey, now it's probably a good thing that Teaghan is hanging out longer ;)

Well you are probably at the doctors now, but in case you aren't I'll share my story with you.

Back in 1997 (when I was 23) I got really really sick and had all the signs and symptoms of appendicitis. Everything but the high red blood count. Finally my DH (then boyfriend) took me to the ER and after hours and hours of tests (blood tests and sonograms to rule out ovarian cyst) they finally decided to to exploratory surgery to see what was going on.

When the surgeon opened me up they found I had Meckel's diverticulum (you can click the link to read about it) it's actually a congenital birth defect and basically it's a "pouch" in the intestines that contains other types of tissues then tough intestine lining and can get ulcers and such. And if it gets inflamed and/or infected it mimics appendicitis.

I hope you get some answers today and hope it's an easy fix!!! Big hugs to your and your DD!!!!
