Not one bit surprised...

remember my thread about my central air being on the fritz last week?...well as it always goes with deployments, this week it's my hot water heater. UGH!!

My favorite time of the day is after both kids are asleep, and I can have a nice hot hot bath. Well, last night I start my water running and you know how you hold your hand under the water and wait for it to run hot and then adjust it...well, it kept running and running, and I was kind of zoned out thinking about what all I needed to do before I went to bed and then realized after about 5 minutes that it was STILL COLD! NO HOT WATER!!! :cursing::cursing:

Seriously?! You know I just have to laugh about it b/c the last time Brian was deployed in our old house, the A/C and water heater died. So why not this time too?..it's like it's meant to be. :blink: I just hope I don't fall and break a foot like I did last time too lol :)

Anyway, my Daddy is coming over to fix it..he says it's probably just an element that's out..I'm not that optimistic..I'm envisioning having to have the entire thing replaced.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right? I swear though after all that's I've been through this time around I could use a break. Thank goodness Brian will be home for a few days this weekend in case something else goes wrong.

Oh BTW...being the savvy military wife I am, I didn't miss out on my bath..It just took a little longer to fill the tub since I heated water on the stove lol! :p

AWESOME! hehe!! I'm glad you got your bath! ;) Bummer that you lost your hot water but that's great that your dad is able to fix it! It's always nice to have someone that knows how to do that kind of work!
 
I hope its an easy fix! How cool that you still took your bath, I would have just said, crap and gone to bed. lol
 
Everytime my dh leaves the state to go work, something major like that happens. I think of that as being major btw. The house didn't catch fire or anything, but if it's something that gets in the way of my day to day routine, (like getting a hot shower), then it's major!!
 
Ours is going out too. We have been having to heat water on the stove also. We have a little hot water and then it goes cold. It sucks. If it is just an elements its a cheap fix so hoping that is the case for you
 
So it was just an element..my Dad went ahead and replaced them both but he did say that we'll need a new heater soon b/c it's almost completely rusted out. As long as it lasts til June when Brian is home so he can deal with it is what I'm hoping for. But yes..thankfully we have hot water tonight :)
 
Oh yay! Glad you got it worked out! I feel ya, I LIVE for my hot bath at night. I bring in my book or a scrap magazine...sigh.. calgon take me away!
