Congrats! He is precious, and I love his name!
Yorick.
Ahhhh.... alas, poor Yorick; I knew him, Horatio. Good job, girls!!
BUT...
he's actually named after a comic book character of the most amazing comic book series you girls have never read. (And you'd all love it)
It's called Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughn (who now writes Lost, ladies, so come on, now you have to give it a try!! LOST!!!)
It's about a disease that wipes out the Y chromosome, killing every male on the planet. Including the animals...
Yorick is the main character, he is the enigma, he is the last man on Earth, in a world filled with women trying to pick up the pieces and get everything back together. The government, utilities, everything, imagine 50% of the population suddenly gone. It is amazing. Worthy of naming my firstborn after.
Go to Barnes and Noble, ask them to point you to the graphic novels section and sit down and read the first one while you're there. I promise you, you'll finish it quick and you won't leave Barnes and Noble without the 2nd and 3rd graphic novels. (I believe there are 7 or 8 graphic novels... it was a 65 issue series)
And... significantly, Yorick in the comic book is named after... Yorick from Hamlet, his father is an English professor.![]()
Phineas is named for my dh's 5th great grandfather, Phineas Pearl, who was rumored to have been a pirate. (and secretly, Phineas Nigellus Black, former headmaster of Hogwarts)
