Got some news tonight

I am going to be a grandma. My daughter got the confirmation this morning she is pregnant. She is going to be making an appointment to get into an obstetrician and get the official due date but I checked with an online due date calculator and it said according to her last period she is due October 11th so right at five to six weeks along I guess. Kinda a huge surprise because she had said she wanted to wait awhile before they tried to get pregnant but I am so happy for her and her husband (just not thinking about the fact I will be a grandma at 36 right now LOL).
 
You will be a young and beautiful grandma who is able to do all the fun stuff with that baby. Congratulations Jessica!!
 
I am really happy about it. She's really only told her dad and me right now so I can't tell anyone on facebook or any other family members yet. She wanted to wait a little while for that. It is such a good thing though and we so needed some good news for once. I really wanted to share with someone.

I'm sure you'll love being a grandma! It's hard for me to put this in context because I'm slightly older than you, but my boys are only 5 and 7.
 
YAY for happy news! Babies are such a blessing!!! Congrats to your family!!

PS My oldest is 20 (and my youngest is only 15 months) so I know I could be a grandma any time now. It kind of scares me to think about it! LOL
 
I always knew there was a very good chance of me being a grandma before I was 40 since I was so young when I had her. I am ok with it. I kinda got used to it with her when I would go to school functions or take her out with me and get the "Are you her mom?" with the bewildered look from people who I talked to as they try to calculate how old I am to how old she is.
 
Congrats!! So exciting!!

I have a step-son who turned 20 exactly a week ago. I could be a grandma myself at any time. DH was 16, almost 17 when my step-son came along. I have a friend who became a grandma at 27 though. She was 14 when she had her daughter and her daughter was 13 when she had the first grand baby.
 
Congrats, Jessica! That's so exciting, and I'm glad your family has some happy news to celebrate. I think you'll be a wonderful grandmother. Being so young gives you the best of both worlds--the fun and special position of a grandma, but the energy and ability to relate of a favorite aunt.
 
Thanks everyone! I am really happy for them (and us too:)). It defenitely helped to get the good news with all the other stuff we are still dealing with and today was the day we finalized everything for our son's marker so it was a rough day to start out with.
 
Oh can you imagine--you'll have a new baby to play with and cherish and he/she will consider you their best friend?? :) Congratulations!
