Go back up RIGHT NOW!!!

My macbook pro has been in the Apple hospital about a week. It has been crashing off and on for a while and we've taken in there before. I've learned in the past to constantly save as I work and I always save before I get up from the computer, even if it's only for a minute or two. Better safe than sorry.

Got a call the other day and they said it crashed on them and I'm so glad they saw it!

Apple called yesterday and said the RAM is malfunctioning. So it will cost about $140 to fix it, BUT if it stops crashing it will be worth it. This laptop has been crashing too many times in the last several months!!!

Thankfully we recently bought an EHD and backed up everything plus we have the Mac time machine back up also.

Good luck with yours.

:( I hope they get it back up and running smoothly!

So, I got a call from the guy at the Apple Store yesterday. They replaced the motherboard and couldn't even access to hard drive, so he told me they had to reformat. Such a bummer, but I was able to order the restore to door drive from Crashplan to get my stuff back (because it would take FOREVER to download my 1 TB of data). $165 for that. Yuck! I've been meaning to buy a new EHD since my last one died and now I'm really wishing I had! Oh well. Just thankful I won't actually lose anything.

He called me back an hour later and they couldn't even get the OS to load, so now they have to replace the hard drive too and I'll be without a computer for a few more days (he had to order some stuff). Blah.

oh yikes! Sounds like it's definitely time to get a new EHD. The good news is, there are usually sales with school starting, and if you need to wait a bit, black friday will have tons too

oh boy. I just backed up this weekend! I hope your get your computer back sooner than later, and that EHD arrives soon too! I'd be a mess. I was just telling DH I want to get a new computer or expand what I can on my Mac.... maybe that is sooner than later too! :P

Thank God everything's backed up! I had a terrible loss of massive amount of kits a few years ago when I dropped my EHD... Since then, I've learned to back up on DVDs AND EHD.
