FYI: If you use Microsoft IE browser

I saw that yesterday. I'm so glad FF is my primary browser. I told a group I'm in about it; still can't sell them on FF.
 
this sucks!! i always use IE. i tried FF a long time ago and wasn't fond of it. maybe its improved since then? sell me on FF, quick! lol
 
I am so glad I convinced Andrew to put FF on the new laptop. Now I'll just go down and put it on his desktop while he's at work. :thumbup:

It's not a total disaster like IE.
You can customize it.

It's IE, only 89043890432 times better.
 
I don't remember. I switched to FF a solid 5 years ago and never looked back.

Do you have THAT many favorites that you can't just type in the name and go rebookmark it?
 
My DH absolutely refuses to allow IE to be used on this computer. He absolutely hates it! Its only Firefox here, and we both love it... no problems. Ever.
 
I'm still on IE freaking *6* here at work.. and I can't upgrade or install Firefox. 3 more weeks until I get to use my new dell...........
 
the only thing I hate about FF is that it doesn't read CSS....lame-o..but I still use it lol and have for a long time now

What do you mean? Isn't CSS what is used to build many websites? If so, then it sure does read it...better than IE! I've only ever used CSS on my own websites and FF displays them perfectly...I always have trouble trying to code it to work properly in IE.
 
i switched to firefox when they first started up and i hated it. just didn't like the way it was set up. i guess with all this IE crap, i should look into in real quick like.
 
wahhuh? So like it can't read websites designed with CSS? Boooo.

ANYhooo...I've been talking forever about switching over to FF from IE and this article sealed the deal. Not sure why the 91345 other reasons didn't. But it's now officially time. lol.

It's got an address bar, forward and back buttons, home button, stop and refresh. What else do you need??

Not picking on you specifically Fizz, I just don't understand the confusion. I don't get people who hate Vista either.
 
Phew! I'm sold anyway, but that makes me feel better. So much of everything uses CSS these days and it would suck if FF had trouble with it.
 
it did transfer my favorites. yes i have a ton! most of which, i'm going to delet. every now and then i go through and delete faves i no longer used. i keep CT forums and my fave digiscrapping sites in their own folder, but i have a bunch of random things in there now i probably need to organize or get rid of.

How did you get it to transfer your favorites? I have arseloads and arseloads.

it's not sleek. it's all garbled up with all this add-on crap. i just dl'd it again and hated it.

yep. sure is. :p on IE i have a browser, a google toolbar and my tabs. FF has all this other mumbo jumbo 'free hotmail' 'buy hotdogs here' 'watch southpark here' (k...not really but all these ads) and it makes the type on websites wonky. screenshot me your FF.

I have none of that nonsense. I have the google toolbar and that's it. I have 894032 tabs open all the time and it's never slow or freezes up. I have some of the apps to do things with it (FireFTP, colorful tabs, permatab, weather) but otherwise nothing else.
 
Yeah, not sure what you're seeing Lizzy but I'm sure it can be removed. I have on my toolbar the usual buttons (back/forward/home/refresh etc), the address bar and a search bar (which is set to google). And a few icons for extensions I have. Below that is my bookmark toolbar (which MAY be what you're seeing, it's just randomly showing you where the bookmarks go, maybe?)

ETA: I have the most recent Firefox, btw...it just updated today.
 
I am on FF and already impressed...it transferred my favs for me too!!! DH always complained about IE not loading his hockey pages correctly, I'll bet he doesn't complain about that anymore!! We'll see. How come no one told me about FF until that security notice today??
