FYI: If you use Microsoft IE browser

Don't know where you've been hiding Jami, there have been plenty of threads about it.

Not sure I realized it was a web browser so likely didn't pay attention to those threads. DH sent me a link from the Air Force talking about how terrible IE was and suggested FF and then I popped on here and saw this thread. If DH hadn't sent that email I would still be using IE I think.

yep. sure is. :p on IE i have a browser, a google toolbar and my tabs. FF has all this other mumbo jumbo 'free hotmail' 'buy hotdogs here' 'watch southpark here' (k...not really but all these ads) and it makes the type on websites wonky. screenshot me your FF.

Hmm, I don't have anything like that. Mine looks like this: (ignore the 8 million tabs I have open :D)

Here's my browser Lizzy... I'm using FF and it has no extras at all... we can add a lot more than what I have, but I just want/need my basic buttons, the Google search bar & my Kaboodle buttons:

Fizz, just go into view~>Toolbars and uncheck everything but the Nav bar. That should take care of just about all of it.

Screenshot yours so we can see wtf you're talking about, LOL!

FF does not seem to like Hotmail. it freezes up on me everytime i try to open an email. its my main email, so unless i figure out why, i'll have to use IE to check my mail, lol

^yep. i tried restarting and it just won't work in it. can't figure out why. i can open it up in IE with no problems. hmmm....

so my problem is that I wanted to switch to FF a long while ago because IE will crash on me all the time. But FF does not do the pop up of the first words of a post.... you know, when you hover over the title of a post thing? Does anyone know how to fix that so the hover thing works? I'd be all over FF if that would work!

FF seems okay. except for it not liking hotmail and the bookmarks is somewhat different and confusing to me. i don't know why, lol.

Mine does the hover thing, but I do remember initially it didn't & can't recall what changed it.

I can only have about 10 tabs open before my computer shouts "Enough!" and locks up Firefox. I have 4 GB of RAM too so I am not sure what is up with that.

Firefox looks different & it does take a little getting used to if you are used to IE. It took me 2-3 tries of downloading, disliking, deleting, repeat before I decided to stick with it.

Oh, I don't like Vista because it wants to 'help' me and I don't want 'help' unless I ask for it so I have spend more time than I care to figuring out how to stop the 'help'. That is why I don't have Yahoo or Google toolbars either. I find their 'help' gets in my way. :)

in Firefox, go to File > Import. Should see option for IE. Not sure if that really works as I have never tried it.

that's how I did it when we had to reformat the HD on the desktop, I had my faves saved as IE for some strange reason.
