For those with a significant other.

He & I used to hang out when I'd come to visit my sister (he was friends with her live-in boyfriend) and we were in their other roommate's bedroom laying on the bed talking, listening to Tool and he leaned over and kissed me. Not hugely romantic. LOL

Our first kiss. What a moment! It was in the car in the parking lot of the movie theater after we saw "Back to the Future" with Michael J. Fox. We were 16! Ooooh...the memories!

Lorie that is really sweet but at the same time really sad.

I'm not as sad about it as I am glad it happened at all. I so appreciate that he was a part of my life and my son is the best gift I have ever been given. I talk about my husband pretty freely because he is still with me, I carry him in my heart. Makes dating other men really tough though. ;)

OMG memories, it was almost 20+ years ago. We were friends for over a year and he had asked me to please go with him to the store to buy some chapstick. I said ok as we walked back to where we were at he put on his chapstick and I asked him may I have some? He paused stretched out his hand w/the chapstick and smiled. He said if you want it you have to take it off of my lips. I smiled then laughed and said umm no it's ok. He said why are you scared? I said no initially b/c I don't want anyone to find out or for you to talk about it with your family or friends since we all hang out together. He said I won't so c'mon take it. I stood in front of him he grabbed my hand and I was so nervous as was he and I stepped in and laid it on him! After he said OMG I never thought it was going to happen, I didn't think you would do it, I lol and said you challenged me so I went for it. I also remember it was a Jersey freezing cold and windy night but after that kiss I didn't feel anything but warm and my heart pounding.

awwwwww i loooove these stories!:wub:

I'm such a romantic haha :)

I am sorry for those of you who have lost their husbands :hugs:

I can totally see that. Your story just kinda touched my heart because of how I could have lost my husband last year in a car accident. I dont think I would ever have a place in my heart for another person.

Our first kiss was 13 years ago, I was 18 and he was 23. It was the end of our third official date. We were talking in the bed of his pick-up truck watching the stars in the empty parking lot... it was super late for me to be out, I think it was nearly 2 am. We were talking about serious stuff that night, deep questions. I remember thinking (LOL) 'ok, let's stop talking already' & being impatient with him. I wanted that kiss and he was taking it slow. :o So, I climbed out of the truck and was about to get in my car. He hugged me and then shocked me with the most amazing kiss ever. ZAM!!! POW!!! :w00t:  Unfortunately, I was in college and still so young. We waited 4 more years to get married. Then 4 more years after that before we had our first child. :)

Such sweet stories! I wish they could all have continued on happily.

Dan and I met in college and had lots of mutual friends when I was a freshman and he was a junior. There was one night toward the end of the school year when it looked like we were interested in each other, but neither of us pursued it because we were about to be separated for the summer. Within a few days of getting back to school in the fall, there was a night we stayed up talking with friends all night. Around dawn everyone else had finally left, and he kissed me. We became an official couple a day or so later, and it was a few months after that when we finally went out on our first real date. We got engaged after I graduated and married a year later, so we were together for 4 years before getting married and have been married for 13 years.

I pray you never have to find out Jessica and have many, many more years with your true love.

All these stories are making me

We were in school, in his car, having one of those looooong conversations you don't ever want to end because you're getting to know one another. He'd found out some time ago that I hadn't ever been kissed yet, so he asked me about it again. I was stammering out all these weird things because I was nervous he brought it up and then he shut me up :p

When I think about it now, it was very rom-com, lol. Because we ended up making out a LOT that night.

And of course it was monumental for me--so when I came home I wrote it all down in my journal, every bit I could remember. LOL

Oh man, KCB, now I wanna scrap that story!!!

Lorie I am sorry that you lost your husband but so glad you have your son and your husbands memory to last a lifetime :)

OMG! That's sweet! But crazy! ;)

I actually have a picture of mine & hubby's first kiss! And it was in front of a couple of hundred people. Our first kiss was on our wedding day when the preacher told him to kiss his bride! I was SO nervous! It was my first kiss ever & he was super sweet about it since he knew I was so nervous. Just a sweet little kiss. But, the second one, after we walked out of the auditorium, that was a good one! LOL :D

& I love hearing all these stories.

Ok this is such a fun thread! :)

DH was my first kiss. We were 16 and had dated about a month. We were both super nervous so it was just a peck on the front porch and I am sure my dad was spying on us LOL! He officially became my first and last guy I've ever kissed <3.

I've really enjoyed reading all these stories!

I can't remember exactly when we had our first kiss, but I'm pretty darn sure it was on a bus on the way from Florida to North Dakota. Sounds weird huh! It was 20 years ago. It was the end of my freshman year of college. We were both involved in the Interesidental hall council at college. There was a national conference in North Dakota and we took a bus to get there. 36 hours there was enough time to totally fall head over heals with DH.

It's funny because I had just told a good friend before we left on the trip that DH was someone I could never like or be friends with because he was so strange. LOL! I sat with him because there was another guy on the bus that liked me that I didn't like. LIttle did I know that he was going to charm me into falling in love with him. We dated all through college and waited 6 years to get engaged. We've been married 14 years now. So glad I took that trip!

I'm PRETTY sure it was the saturday before mother's day in 1999. In my friends apt on the couch. We usually spent the night at her place on saturdays and you only got the couch or the spare bed if you brought a boy home. That was the first time ever I'd brought a boy home and one of my other friends was pissed b/c she wanted the couch :D :D :D

It was on our second date... which was the day after our first date. :D Since we were good kids, I never really had him in my dorm room. We went and hung out in a common room at my dorm and sat on the couch and talked until like 4 am. We were tired, so we were facing each other with our heads resting to the side on the back of the couch. Our faces were like 2 inches apart forEVER! I thought he was never going to kiss me. Then he finally did and it was awesome. We were also super quick. We just fell in love so fast. We were engaged 2 months later and married 4 months later. :w00t:  I wouldn't have done it any other way.

Thanks for the prompt Kristen!

I should really scrap the story of DH and I for my daughter. Now that she's in Jr. High and getting a bit boy crazy she keeps asking me about how we met, etc. She has a natural curiosity since she doesn't remember her father, much less the 2 of us together.

Oh man, Kristin! I sooo love this thread, it just brought me back to that exact day and made me smile like I am some teenager.

I can't exactly remember the date but I knew ours was inside my dorm room (he visited me that day). We were just chatting about things and he's face is closing to mine and then he said "Just an inch more" - that's when I knew he was going to kiss me LOL! Ain't that cute? haha! I already wanted to grab him but I managed to control myself and gave him the honor :D

It's really funny because after that he told me that he's been trying to kiss me for a long time and can't find the perfect moment LOL!

My son was the same way. I should think about this as well, but now that he is 20, he may not be as interested.

I am told that I planted a wet soggy kiss on DH within the first hour of catching sight of him .. but I had drunk rather a lot of Bacardi with the girls before going out so I am not sure if that is true - or if it counts

I was quite surprised when we met the second time how much he knew about me but apparently I had been drunkenly rambling at him that first night :o

Obviously didn't put him off as that was 21 years ago and we have been married for 18 years now :)

Haven't had a good drunken ramble for ages - where did I put that Bacardi bottle !!

You know... this kind of makes me sad... I just realized that I don't remember our first kiss. I remember some moments from before and first started dating, but a kiss... nope not there. hmm... I wonder if it was so bad that I've blocked it from my memory???

I'm loving all these stories!! Fun, sweet, romantic, sad - Thanks for the thread Kristin, it's so fun to think back on our first kiss, and read about everyone else's!!

I met my dh in 1999... I became really good friends with his sister when my brother was dating her :D Dh at that time was kind of a wild guy, totally not the kind of guy I went for. When we met, I was seeing someone, and he was seeing everyone LOL. My and my brother, and dh and his sister and brother we all friends, and most of us worked together, so we were always hanging out and my brother and I went to all their family holidays, so we were around each other all the time, but I never got interested because he just wasn't my type. Fast forward to 2003, he was in the Army, and going through a divorce, and home on leave. He came into the gas station I worked at after I got off, and we stood there and talked all night. I totally asked him if he wanted to go out while he was home, but he insists it was him who asked me:glare:! We had our date that next night, and I really couldn't believe how different he was! We did dinner and a movie, and talked for a long time in the car, and he kissed me after. It was sweet, and a nice surprise! We got engaged pretty fast, but didn't actually marry until 2007 - at the courthouse... I so want to have my 'real' wedding one day  At the time, it just didn't seem important.

It was our 4th date, actually I was starting to wonder about him since he hadn't tried to kiss me sooner. LOL!! We were sitting in my car talking and he just kind of leaped across to kiss me and scared the beejeebies outta me! LOL!! We were engaged 6 days later and married 2 months after we met and we have been married 20 years now. :)

We didn't kiss until our 3rd date (even though I drank him under the table on our first date) after we had gone to an ASU football game - we were leaning against his car. I guess that was apropos since my life involves LOTS of football!

On our first official date, neither of us was ready for the evening to end so we were sitting at the local park on the swings. <3 7 years ago this year!

I had been alone for a few years and he came over to my place.....but it took us six more hours before the first kiss! I felt like 15 again....and I sure was 31!

Aww I love reading everyone's stories!

My DH and I started dating in 1994 when we were still in high school and I'm pretty sure our very first kiss was after school by my locker shortly after we finally started dating. We'd been really good friends for a few months and I knew he liked me, but since he was 2 years older I was a little hesitant to say yes even though I really wanted to. My parents had this crazy rule about not dating older guys, but I knew he was the one so I finally said yes anyway!
