...they scheduled me for another procedure. The results from the biopsy came back CIN III, Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia, level III, which means I have severe dysplasia (abnormal cells) If it had made it through one more level of my cell, it would be cancerous. So, on April 2nd, they'll do a LEEP procedure (sounds better to me than the previous biopsy because although it's a more serious procedure, atleast I'll flippin' be anesthetized, unlike the biopsy where I felt everything! They will attempt to remove all the abnormal cells and then we'll do another biopsy in 4 months to see how fast the cells are mutating. If the biopsy comes back bad again in 4 months, we'll pursue other treatment. If it comes back fine, I'll have to have two more biopsies before I'm 'in the clear' and can go back to an annual pap instead of 4 a year!
So there's my news. Thanks for your well wishes!
p.s. Oh, and if anyone has been wondering, I have HPV. Got it from my first husband 10 years ago. And it's been hell ever since. It is what causes all of this.
