Hey girls! Been a crazy day today! I had just pulled up this thread at 1:00 while I ate lunch, & then my cute hubby showed up at home for lunch (rare) so we ate together (fun!) and then went and voted and I had other errands. (It was like a little date, haha!)
With reading, I love historical fiction, young adult, etc. I'm pretty open to what I read, but I don't like books I read to be too serious or too violent. That tends to stress me out, therefore, defeating my purpose in reading. I loved The Guernsy Litereary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton but then I didn't love the Stephanie Plum series and couldn't even make it throught the entire first book, which is a big deal for me, since I basically can't handle not knowing how something ends. It practically kills me to not know how a book ends, lol!
I espeically can't read any of Jodi Picoult books (although I think she's so talented) I tried reading My Sister's Keeper and it was too much like my own life with my speical needs son, who is 14. I can't read any books like that, I intentionally skipped the Memory Keeper's Daughter (I think that's the one with twins born, but one was down syndrome and the hubby told the wife the special needs baby died, but really he didn't want to deal with a special needs child and passed it off onto a servant to raise secretly - yeah, I can't handle those types of books at all).
I read to be entertained and to learn.

I tend to really empathize with the characters, that's why I can't read horrible violence, etc., it gets to me and makes my tender heart bleed, ya know? So you may see some things ::most :: people love that maybe I didn't on my goodreads. That said, feel free to add me, here is my
goodreads profile.
