I love naturallycurly.com, too! It can be a little overwhelming, though, so you may want to start with
Live Curly, Live Free. It gives you the basics so you can make sense of what you're reading on NC.com.
I use sulfate and silicone-free styling products, too. Some are from the site, some not. I do use shampoo, but a gentle, sulfate-free one. For me, the process of styling my hair is more important than the products.
-I shampoo and condition my hair as soon as I get in the shower so the conditioner can sit on my hair and really moisturize it for a while. Washing the conditioner out is the last thing I do before turning off the water. (My conditioner is the one product I swear by, Giovanni Smooth as Silk Deeper Moisture Conditioner. It's in the organic beauty aisle at Target.)
-Leave your hair dripping wet while you apply styling products.
-I use more of the Smooth As Silk on my hair as a leave in conditioner then apply some curl creme.
-Scrunch dry with something smooth--a terry towel causes frizz. Cloth baby diapers like
these are perfect (not to mention cheap and easy-to-get).
-Don't touch your hair once it's dry, since handling it causes frizz. (With 3 kids who touch my hair constantly, this is where it I fail abysmally. But my hair looks great on the rare day I'm not with them, LOL.)
