As a photographer, I love a well composed, well staged photo, but I also love candid shots that, like you said, may not be ideally positioned or framed, but the feeling, the "realness" comes through. Even though it may have felt awkward to you, to me it looks cute, it looks endearing. I like it. that hunch in your shoulders as you look at him smiling at you....so cute! Everyone is different, some like staged, some like candid. But I like them both, so both of these shots are keepers IMO.

We've done family photos twice now and I've felt the same way about our photos. Like why does everyone else look cute and I look like a total dork?but I just chalk it up to the fact that we are all way more critical of ourselves because when I show the same photos to Adam, he thinks he looks crazy and I look cute.
