You know I almost expect that when something really great happens to us something pretty bad is going to follow. My husband started feeling pressure and pain behind his right eye sometime yesterday. I tried to get him to go to the hospital or at least urgent care. Nope. He wouldn't. He woke this morning with the headache still. I told him to go to the hospital again. Still no. He said he felt better but really didn't. We went to see the baby. I told him to tell me if he started feeling bad but he didn't say anything. We left after about two hours made it maybe 3 miles and then he got sick. He did not have much choice at that time but to go to the ER. Luckily we were still close to the one my daughter is at with the baby and it is really slow there. So my son-in-law says he will have his mom drive him to us and he would drive us back so that Johnny does not have to drive. We get to the ER and there are a few people there but he gets taken right back after I explain for what feels like the millionth time about the car accident and his injuries. He has a neurological exam and goes for a CT scan. It looks normal. Then comes the scary part. They say he needs a spinal tap to eliminate meningitis and bleeding from the brain that wasn't seen in the CT scan. No bleeding and initially no signs of infection (they are doing a culture which we will get the results in 48 hours). We leave with a referral to a neurologist. So basically just one more doctor to add to the growing list of specialists he is seeing (now it will be a neurologist, cardiologist, digestive & liver, pulmonologist & pain management plus the regular monthly to bi-monthly primary care dr visits). He is still sick. Still in pain. And still cannot really see well out of his right eye. And we have no idea why.
Just sucks that it cannot be just good for a little while. This is all totally new. We knew his eye was damaged in the accident but he just had his eyes checked on Friday and he was perfectly fine. Did great on the eye check.
