bad place for this store

:D

We have Dick's and Sports Authority here too.

Speaking of dr names however.. the surgeon that did my emergency appendectomy was Dr Hacker. My mom said she thought about it for a bit before she let him take me.

OMG! I told my hubby the name of the doctor and he just about died. He said there was NO way he would go see him! LMAO.

*WE* can say it's just a name. But it has become more than that in our culture. I'd probably change my name if I had one unfortunate as some of the examples in this thread. I've been hanging out with young men for a while now (gaming), and there's noooooo way any of them are mature enough to let that slide (omg pun...). I'm pretty sure my own kids definitely don't see it as just a name.

If people would use correct terminology then these sort of slang words would fall to the wayside and not be hanging around for immature kids to use to make fun of one another. I'm all for a good innuendo or pun but when it comes to naming body parts there is only one name, I figure if I can't say it to my doctor, boss or minister then I don't need to be using it and neither do my children.

I grew up in a family where every stupid slang in the book was used for private parts and it was to the point that you couldn't say anything without someone being immature about it. I hated it and swore I wouldn't live in that kind of household when I had my say. Thankfully, I don't. :)

I have a Dick's here....

Come on...you knew I was going to go there. LOL

But really we do, and it's nicer than our SA.

And this is why I love that you are our boy here. :p You totally earned this one due to us torturing you with labor talk, hysterectomy talk and any other female topic. Good work, Mr. Morris.

On a funny note........when we were going through court stuff with Steve's ex our attorney's name was Dick Smalley. No lie. He also had the sense of humor that would make the other attorneys address him by his full name......and refused to be called RIchard. LOL

Yeah......I wouldn't think much of that store being by the others. I actually like that store. There will always be the 13 year old boy that finds humor in things like that. Honestly, if Landon (7) read the sign to that store, I wouldn't be totally upset with him and I wouldn't make it a big deal. That is not what we call his male anatomy so it wouldn't be "bad" around here.

Aaron was surely waiting on that one, eh? LOL I do feel bad for him sometimes having to listen to all the girl talk and the TMI stuff.

We have Dicks & a SA. I like Dicks better. :) The name doesn't bother me but then I grew up with a bunch of Dicks. :)

It is a word we do use as a slang term & the boys are old enough to get the joke but it's a one and done kind of thing. "Yeah, it's called Dicks. Snicker once and lets get on with finding what we came here for" has always been my view.

But I grew up around people who called female genitalia "Cupcake" or "Twinkie" so my take has always been to just ignore it & continue using whatever word anyway. People will always find a away to make things obscene, especially young males

I have a funny story my manicurist told me once. She and her sister were at Sports Authority looking for something and didn't find it, so her sister says, "oh well, let's go look at Dick's" lol

I can top that, We use to see a doctor and his name was Waldo Frankinstein
:D My daughter was going through her gothic phase and she just loved him.
He was a sweet older doctor in a small town, sadley he passed away a couple years back.

:D

We have lots of Dick's Sporting Good's around this part of the country-I don't think I've ever heard of Sport's Authority. I don't think it would be odd to place it next to a TRU.

I actually think it was a smart idea. Say the man wants to go to Dick's, the woman and kids will head over to the TRU. If the new mom wants to pick up something that BRU, then the man can go head over to Dick's.

The only euphemism we are teaching our kids is Pee Pee, because it's what they use it for at this point of life (1 & almost 3). DS hasn't noticed that his pee pee is different from his sisters, so when he does we will teach him the proper anatomy.
