Your Username

My best friend growing up was named Brenda! I also called her "b" or little b. One night at college she was staying in my dorm, and she had to leave for a meeting. I forgot to tell her something before she left, and so I went running after her yelling "B!" I think people thought I was being chased by a bee!

You never told me that!! :D I bet people did think you were being chased by a bee and not actually calling for your friend!!

You never told us your version Wendy?
I used to be Hystrix16--my husband's username on EVERYTHING because he set me up when he tried teaching me forums (funny, huh?). After the birth of my middle child, I started up a beading business and asked my Babyzone Mama's (ErinShannon is one of them) what I should call my business. They said to go off of Wendy and Peter Pan and came up with Neverland. When I created my first digital scrapbooking username, I continued with "Neverland" and added "scraps" because that's what I do!

Mine's not all that original.... hub's last name is King and I'm the center of his world (though I had to share the throne when our girls were born..lol) so I'm his Queen. 82 is my birth year. This is the same username you'll see me use everywhere except TLP where for some reason I have a different name... it's been so long I don't remember the why about that but it's ScrappyHappy82 there. That one is embarrassing but I don't want to start over new in the forums so I leave it be. :p

Oh my goodness, Cassie... you just made me feel SO old!! Hubby graduated from high school in 82 & I graduated in 84 :D

I have so loved reading everyone's stories behind their username. What fun. My is a nickname my husband gave me. My name is LaShawn and I love panda bears. From that he started calling me Shawn Bear. It kinda stuck. 15 years later he still calls me that in texts/emails.

What a great question, Wendy! I have really enjoyed reading all the answers. How fun to get to know more about everyone!!

Long ago in a place far, far away, I did calligraphy and designed cards. My best friend helped me come up with a business name - it was craftytam creations - "crafty" because I was always doing crafts of some form and "tam" because that is what family & friends call me.
When I started dabbling in digi, and needed a username craftytam seemed like the logical choice.

Mine is pretty much this everywhere. My name is Vanessa, lots of people call me "nesser" and 1981 is the year I was born. :)

Me too!! I always wonder what's behind everyone's usernames. I'm glad people enjoyed this one as well!!

Love this thread!

abm - my initials
234 - my husband use to be a police officer and this was his badge number

so many many years ago when we got our first email address we used abm234 so we were both "represented".

Mine couldn't be more basic if I tried haha. Gemma is my name and it was available when I first joined back in 2010 :D

I use my designer name now, but when I first joined it was under Loriebug66. Loriebug or just Bug is my family knickname and 66 is my birth year. Pretty simple.

When I first started designing, for a really brief period, I used still used my initial LJS, but turned them into Let's Just Scrap. Realized it was hokey, couldn't come up with anything cool and just went with LJS Designs. I toyed with just using my name when I moved to SSD, but that seemed really grown up, so I stuck with what I had. LOL

I imagine it might have been hard on your customers if you changed to your real name, rather than your design name!

One of these designers, I believe it's Grace Lee changed her name from when she came here. Whoever it is, I'm still trying to see what their "before" name was because I know I have product from them. It's so been a while since I tried investigating, but I think it's Grace. Wasn't she Bunny something? I don't know. Anyways, it's always hard on the customers when a designer goes through a name/brand change. I'm so used to one way and then something changes and I second guess everything!

Funnily enough Jacinda is almost always available in forums. :D My name was pretty rare in New Zealand growing up, but now our prime minister's name is Jacinda, so I hear it all the time. Still takes some getting used to though.

Her brand was Hat of Bunny, now Grace Lee Designs

My username was very unoriginal..... my Name and I'm a mom of all boys.... so everywhere I go I create an account using JennNtheBoys. lol I have been using the Username since 2005, when I had just two boys.... I was so thankful when baby #3 turned out to also be a boy so I didn't have to change/come up with a new username LMAO!

Mines is pretty boring and too original & pretty much what I use for all forums if it is available.

JMC1988 (if this one isn't available it's JMC2688)

JMC are my initials + birth year / birthday

Jenn, your birthday is Feb 6? So is my youngest son!! :)

Yes ma'am it sure is Mrs. Tammy!
That is so neat! I rarely find others who share my birthday! It seems to be an odd day out :)

My friend (whom was like my brother) that just passed away and I shared the same birthday exactly one year apart!

Not very often I see a digi scrapper around my age - I’m a year older

I have a cousin and a Nephew that were born on February 6th. :D

Mine is the most boring, unoriginal user name in the world. :D It's my first name and last initial. Well, at the time it was my last initial. I've since gotten a divorce and changed my last name back to my maiden name, but it felt weird to change my user name since I've had it for so long (almost 10 years).

I've really enjoyed reading this thread, and the stories behind so many people's usernames! I'm a bit late to the party, but here's mine...

I've had my username for nearly 20 years, possibly longer. Aurian is the main character in a series of fantasy novels by an author named Maggie Furey. When I was a shy teenager who was just starting grow and mature, a powerful flame-haired mage was the perfect online persona for me. To this day, I still really like the books and the username, as it's not normally taken on most forums etc. :)

Mine is the most boring, and most obvious here, I think.... LOL

I've went by a few things in the scrappy world... MyJuneAngel, 2irishbabies, and Simply Sherri. I designed under Simply Sherri and then decided to just use my full name to design under. After that, I felt registering on forums with that was best because people could pick me out in a crowd... not have one design name and one forum name. I think I was registered here as 2irishbabies waaaay back when SSD first opened.
