So KCB did this informal poll on Facebook asking why people no longer scrapped or scrapped as much, and I can't give people more time, make their kids younger, or buy them laptops/software (some of the answers), BUT one of the recurring answers was missing 'the old days' and a better sense of community.

With that in mind, you see that link up there that Vanessa so handily made for us of everyone's videos? That link, ladies, is A TREASURE, but alas, it is a treasure circa 2009 and 2010 so a good portion (if not all) of the videos have been taken down.

No, for reals.

Your mission should you choose to accept it is to make a short video of yourself to share with the SSD community. Let's say in the next 2 weeks, okay?

Yes, we want to see YOU even if you don't feel good/are tired/have kids crawling all over your face/don't know anyone here well/don't think you are photogenic.

The only 'rule' is that it needs to tell us something abt YOU. :wub: You can give us a brief bio, wax poetic on your favorite TV show or movie, have one of your kids interview you... WHATEVER MELTS YOUR CHEESE, MAN.

We really really REALLY want to see your face, but I'm also willing to accept anyone who wants to, say, make a short Claymation skit or stick figure drawing of themselves, too. :p

I can't wait to see y'all! I will try to get my video done by this weekend.

PLEASE send any 'former' SSDers to this thread, too! Even if you haven't been around or active in awhile, YOU STILL MATTER TO US.

ETA: Possible questions/topics to include:
-- name/age/location (obviously)
-- marital status/kids/job
-- how you got started scrapping/how long you've been scrapping

I just reread my post and I sounded kinda demanding. I wasn't trying to be I promise! :) But I appreciate the list. (And you guys will appreciate not having to listen to me ramble about nothing in particular!) ;)
 
This is way outside my comfort zone! I wouldn't even know how to make/upload a video!!
 
Many computers already come loaded with video software. If you can do Skype on your computer, you can shoot a video, too.

It might be easiest, though, to shoot a video with your cell phone or camera. Once you've shot one, you need to transfer it to your computer (the Cloud, Dropbox, etc.) and then upload it to Youtube (or Dropbox or what program you use to host photos and videos and things).

Once it's uploaded somewhere online, you just need to copy & paste the video link into the master list in the stickied thread here in the forum.

Does that make sense?
 
I'd probably do it with my phone but it would be pretty average quality. So, once I've saved it to Dropbox, etc, is it pretty much the same as posting the links to a LO also saved in Dropbox??

This sounds like fun... I'll definitely try (hopefully it doesn't take as many attempts as it does to get a perfect selfie though...if it does maybe I'll just make a blooper reel LOL)
 
I am going to do mine tonight as long as Mister Moose is feeling better/less toothy. I looked so cute yesterday, too, but he wouldn't let me put him down until bedtime (and even then he woke up 10+ times last night). :p
 
I'm going to do mine right now ALTHOUGH you're so cute Trish, I don't know if I want my man voice and chins to follow you. :blink:
 
I have discovered that - although I think I am fairly witty and personable in real life, in an attempt to make a video, I become an animated piece of cardboard. So, my apologies. My video is uploading as we speak. I was tired so forgive the lack of interesting stuff. :D
 
I literally HATE seeing myself on any kind of video, so this has the potential of being very painful for me!!! I think I'll wait and watch a few before I dive in too...
 
Oooh! :w00t: I have to think about this. Can I use my computer to record a video? ??? Or my tablet? I do have a phone, but that might be kinda pathetic...
 
Oh my gosh, I missed this somehow. My old video is so lame. I will definitely make a new one.
 
So I really went out on a limb here, and after seeing my video, you're either going to love me and think I'm HILARIOUS or hate me and think I'm RIDICULOUS.

I'll hope for the former while planning for the latter. ;)
