so I just walked into the bathroom and was horrified when I looked in the mirror..
I have pasty lips- like, normally they're pretty light.. but today, they are extra pasty.. like almost the same colour as my face- which is just disturbing looking.. So I don't wear lipstick, ever.. I've tried, but every single colour I've tried, has been disasterous.. I dunno, maybe I don't *get* it..? am I just doing things wrong.. The other issue is that obviously everything else about me is bold.. hair.. nails.. the rest of my makeup usually.. me.. (lol) and then these nekkid lips.. I think it would also look funny if I did something super subtle too though woudln't it? though super bold on my mouth.. would be odd.. ergh..... I have no idea hahahahah I'm talking in circles.. I like the colour of my lips.. like .. you know how they get all coloured and raw after an intense make out session-- that colour.. but I've never managed that look with lipstick (hahahahaha).. maybe I should just go for a pow red and see what happens :p

For you, I'd go monochromatic... you could pull it off, most people could not. So purple blush, eyeshadow, liner, and lips... but in varying shades, please. ;)

My personal favorite is smokey eyes and super pale-ish nude lips.
 
I am beyond pasty, and like a nice peach/nude lip gloss. Just enough that people can see that I have lips.

I don't think super subtle on the lips is bad. Supposedly you are suppose to go bold on the eyes or the lips.
 
So a few quick pointers....

Never be afraid of eyeliner!!

don't overdo the blush or foundation (nothing wrong with subtle)

I love gloss!! Just experiment! If you go bold with the lips keep everything else simple and your lips will pop.

Use a shade lighter than your foundation to make something pop.... a shade darker to diminish.

To freshen your face... don't forget to exfoliate. Your face will light up

Since everything else is bold with you... there is no need to bold your makeup. Sometimes its too much.

I do have bright purple eye liner & shadow ^_^ though I'm pretty sure I'd look slightly corpse-ish with purple lipstick haha.. I could totally get away with it though LMAO no one would blink an eye hahaa..
 
ok.. can someone show me like.. a shade of pale pink they mean.. cause, I've tried pale pinks before-- cause I thought that was "what yuo are supposed to do" and I swear I always look really effed up..
 
The basic rule of thumb is that when you do a bold eye look, you should do a subtle lip look and vice versa. Try finding a your lips but better color. I found mine with MAC lip gelee in Jellybabe and C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shines. I use several colors in the latter brand, "violet" and "bare" being my favorites. Both products give me just enough color in my lips to not look like Casper every day.

check out MAC Cosmetics they have great glosses... I always wear Lusterglass- colors like love nectar or wonderstruck.
 
La, I think you'd look pretty with either a tinted gloss or a deep red lipstick, like the color of your goat blinkie...whichever look you're going for.
 
I think with your bold style a rather nuetral lip contrasts the best...

So, I have pasty white skin and am kinda oldish (shhhh, don't tell anyone!!) I have NEVER done smokey eyes cause I look like I'm dead. I went onto youtube searching for smokey eye tutorials. I found some, still probably won't ever try it though....

But check this out...
I found curlformers!!! Have you guys seen these????? I sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo want to buy a set!!!!! So that's why I hate you all, cause you're making me spend money.
 
Even when I wear make up (which is about 35% of the time), I find lipstick looks horrible on me (I have really small lips). I use a light pinky gloss and find that does the trick..... especially if it tastes yummy! :)
 
I look HORRIBLE in lipstick too La! I have 3 go-to lipglosses that I love!!! Loreal makes a shade called Mica that is a light pinkish purple that I wear alot in the summer. In the winter I use a bit darker mauve color. I am very pale/white with freckles.
