Have any of you done in Year in Review pages? Do you have any tips, tricks, suggestions on doing a layout?

I used to do them while watching the NYE specials on TV but stopped a few years ago :(

The things that helped me were:
-Pick 1 photo from each month
-A template so I could throw it together easily
-Write down highlights from each month in the week leading up to it (I just kept it on the fridge, like a grocery list)
-Asking family members about their highlights

I need to start doing them again! I love them as a final page in an album. I need to find the ones I do have.

I also did a couple while watching the NYE television specials. I have to figure out where mine are. I was very happy with how they turned out. I made them with all words, highlighting what happened during the year.
 
I have made a mid year in review page for one of the past Bingo challenges.



And last years year in review spread.
 
Sorting through a year's worth of photos intimidates me, so I do as much as possible by looking through my completed scrapbook pages for the year, especially layouts for weekly/monthly projects. Any layout that has a photo or event I want to use gets copied to my working folder. Then I go through my to-scrap folder and folders of recently-taken photos and do the same. I always end up with way too much in my working folder, so then I narrow things down to what I really plan to use before I spend time going back through my files to find the original photos. This is actually my process for making calendars in mid-December, but I'd do the same if I were making a single page.
