Here it is! Remember in this thread how I showed you all my excitement over my plan to turn a lamp base from Target (found at the thrift store) and a hurricane (also from the thrift store) into a candle stick? Well, it turns out I didn't have to do much to this to turn it exactly into what I wanted it to be. I kept it simple, clean, and I love it!

First let me refresh your mind... ;)

1- I couldn't decide which hurricane to use.

2- Then I couldn't figure out how to get the cable rod cut but then it turns out that with the help of Brook (thanks Brook!) and my husband it only took but a few minutes to saw that piece right off!

3- After a good cleaning and with the help of my industrial strength glue, I was able to get moving with my chosen hurricane. :)

4- The lamp base cost me $2.99. The hurricane was $1.50. Total for this project = $4.49!!!

And now presenting next week's project!

I have been working on an office-turned-play room for my kids and it is taking me quite a bit of time and effort! My deadline to finish the play room is January 31st. I am very close actually. So in my efforts to try to get this baby done, my next project is to turn these wood frames into works of art, as well as anchor the bookcases unto the wall. I bought these frames from Etsy, unpainted. I painted them this yellow color, but I hate that shade of yellow, doesn't pop enough and it's got too much green in it. So I got some new paint and I am going to repaint them and mount 8x10 photos of my kids onto them (notice that the opening is actually only for a 5x7 photo). And if I have time, I will also make some pillows for the seating bench I made for the playroom.

It looks pretty bad right now... ugh, but I think once I am done with this project it will look great (finally)...

Beautiful, Yari! I wish my brain worked in a way where I could see the possibilities with those kinds of things. Alas, I have ZERO decorating skills.

Looks great! I need some taller pieces in my home. I will have to keep an eye out and look at lamp bases in a whole new way. :)

Gorgeous! I'm like Lydia; I wish I could see possibilities instead of clutter when I looked at things like lamp bases.

Awww, thanks girlies!! It was really simple to do. This week's challenge will be a little bit more challenging. And one thing you should know about me and my projects is that I don't really take on really complicated projects cause otherwise I will never get them done. ;)

That turned out fantastic, Yari! I totally don't deserve any credit for suggesting the sawzall, but thanks for the mention. ;) so glad it turned out exactly the way you imagined it! Can't wait to see what you do next. :D
