Okay, so you all have permission to laugh, but I literally JUST figured out that in Photoshop you can filter your fonts by category. When you click on the font choice, there's a drop down box at the top.
There is a category for handwritten and another for script which are the 2 types I most often use! One thing I can't stand is sifting through hundreds of fonts trying to find something I want to use. I can't believe I've been scrapping for almost 10 years and didn't realize this!! This is flippin life-changing!! (or at least scrap-changing?)

Um.... is this a thing in Elements too? Now I'm going to have to go look lol. You're not the only one who didn't notice this!

Don't feel silly, I don't think it's been a feature for that long! I don't think Adobe does a great job of telling consumers what features have been added when they do updates.

I didn't know this either. Can you do a screen shot of where you select the 'sort by style' ? I can't see it in my version of photoshop, so maybe mine isn't new enough?

Sure! I have CC, so maybe it is a new thing. When I found it today, I just assumed it had been there the whole time haha.

Um, yeah, I don't think PS7 has that. Cool feature though - I would definitely use it if I had it.

lol yes I knew that but I think I have found that it doesn't do a good job at knowing which ones are handwritten or not. Like there might be a flaw somewhere on how they classify all those categories...

Yeah, true. It doesn't seem perfect, but it's nice to at least be able to filter out some of the boring stuff and get a semi-nice list!

That's a great feature, but do you have to have your fonts installed for it to work?
I use Nexus Font to temporarily install my fonts so they don't take up space.

Well add me to the list because I didn't know this either :blink::o:o

yeah, no laughing because CS5 doesn't have it and I looked for it all night hoping it were true!!

I'm glad your program has that feature, that's pretty awesome!

I had no idea that you could do this either.... do use a mac or PC?

Really?? I didn't even know there was a paid version!! I guess I'm a font peon. :D I just looked and I have 3,608 fonts. How many do you have??

I have over 4,000 installed and another 2,500 that I've not installed because my computer is slow enough already!

I got a pop-up warning when I linked all of my fonts saying that 2,000 was max for the free version and gave me a link to buy the paid version. I decided I didn't need it that much so I never did anything else with it.

maybe I downloaded it from a bad site and they were trying to steal my information?
Where did you get yours because none of the sites that I'm Googling right now look like the site that I initially downloaded it from!

Lori, I use a PC. Nexus Font is awesome! It's free & I've used it for years. You can catalog fonts by type, but I haven't taken the time to do that.

I had Nexus Font. I loved it, however upon getting Windows 10 I found out that it won't work with it. :(

That would be a fun feature! My version doesn't have it. I don't use CC though. I'd kind of like to, but I'm sticking with what I have that is paid for. ;) Work is going to set me up with CC. I'm just waiting on them to get around to getting my new computer together at work. I work in school technology and there are always fires to put out so I don't know when they will actually get my new system set up.
