Workout Music

Brodo gettin her Swerb on
Ok, so I posted that I'm doing the Couch to 5K program (just finished week 2 day 1, woot!!). I downloaded the podcasts to listen to on my iphone. The first week was good, the music was good, no problem. Today though? AWFUL MUSIC! I could barely hear it, and it was slooooooowwwwww. WORST!

There's an app for the iphone that lets you use your own music and interrupts it for the running/walking prompts. Awesome. Except I don't have enough music that I want to use.

So. All that stuff that you probably didn't need to know, just to ask for some good upbeat/fast music recommendations. ;)

Thanks guys!!

I download a couple of podcasts. One is MotionTraxx - it tells you the BPM of the whole podcast, but it's usually an hour long and he usually tells you when it is halfway through and about 10 minutes left. Another is FitMusic.com - those are shorter workouts ranging from 15-35 minutes.

Oh man - totally watching this thread!

I couldn't agree MORE about the second week... I did Week 1 last week, and will start Week 2 tomorrow. I listed to a few min of Week 2 yesterday - and BLAH!

What app replaces the music portions of the podcasts? I will be ALL OVER that!!

Just use the app store and serach couch to 5k. There are several, but this is the one that I'll be using. I didn't get it yet, so I don't know all the details, but it lets you play your own playlist.

I use my ipod with the Nike + and have the Itunes workout-00 set, its wonderful... its mostly r&b/rap but the beat is good. Its all upbeat you can do it music! I totally suggest it! Now if only I could find time to run. :( When do you have time to run without the kids?

I need to get the Nike+ for SURE. That along with an armband for my iphone, are on my list. Along with new running sneakers. Going looking for those tomorrow.

I don't have kids, lol. So that part is easy, lol.

Holly - I have a Zune MP3 player not an iPod, and I get mine through the Zune store (iTunes has some of them too). Some of these podcasts you can go to the direct site to download them, like fitmusic.com and motiontraxx.com.
