Working on the pink/boy layout

I haven't done that particular one, but I have been slightly embracing more of the idea of flowers on my boy layouts - I don't do pink. But I can look.
 
Here you go - pink and boy (mind you he's a baby, there's no way I'd put this much pink on a page about the big boys, lol)


 
That's helpful. I've been trying to go out and use some pink paper but I'm not liking it!
 
Hmm... I don't like the color pink... so I'm not sure if these have enough pink in them to help you...

My son's favorite color is pink right now, so I'm going to scrap about that. That will give me a good way to pull in the pink. :)
 
I don't have that many purely "Boys" layouts, but I have no problem with using pink for boys, because when it comes to scrapbooking, I'm a total egotistical bad-ass: I decide which kit I use, and if mommy wants pink flowers, she's getting them :p. Here's what I have in my gallery so far:

The typical boy kits often don't have very interesting flowers, and I'm a total suckers for flowers, so I often choose the flowery kits for their pics, too.
 
I've justified pink a handful of times lol :) I think I got away with it with these :) And aside from maybe two or three mommy-focused layouts, that's it for the pink with my boys :)

Here's the one I did for this month's challenge, embracing the idea of adding myself to the layout to make the pink seem less out of place.

This one was easy because Lucas decided to wear pink for his senior pictures!



I feel like the pink in this one felt summery, not girly.



And my sweet little boy before he was born, with just enough pops of pink to balance the blue.



My plan for using pink on boy layouts is to use just enough pink without adding too much, to have a woman/girl in the photos to, to play off of their clothing, or to use something that accents the weather-- a cool wintery pink amidst other frosty colors works with boys for winter, just like a warm summery pink amidst other summery colors looks commonplace without screaming "OMG I'M PINK!" (Which, btw, is totally fine to have, too, but I like the subtle additions in my layouts, especially because I'm not a fan of pink).
 
You could always do a "You're so not a pink boy" or "Pink is NOT your favourite colour" kind of layout.
 
I looked back through old layouts. I've only ever used any amount of pink on a layout with my son on it once. I only have a couple of layouts with him and flowers. I don't have many pink layouts of my daughter either though! Here is the only one in my gallery that has my son and pink.

I'm actually surprised I didn't find MORE as I'm looking through my gallery - I will use pink & flowers with no shame on my boy layouts. They should just be happy I'm recording their precious memories, as far as I'm concerned! ;)

I'll stop now...I think it goes without saying that I use pink on pages of my boys...a lot. :P
 
I don't have a problem using pink on my son's pages. He wears pink breast cancer bracelets quite often and doesn't mind it.
 
Here's a few of mine. I have no qualms about using pink on a boys page... I just don't often do it because I tend to use those types of kits on pages for my daughter. :)





 
My suggestion is to pair it with blue or to use a picture wtih you & him. If I'm in the pic, there are no "boy" rules.

That's my philosophy, too. My oldest is 9, and since he was about 4 or 5 he's objected strenuously to any LO about him that has flowers, pink, or purple. I generally try to respect his preferences because I want him to like looking back at his LOs. However, all bets are off if there's a girl in the photo with him or if there's a theme-specific reason to include pink (ie, Valentine's Day) or flowers (ie, a Welcome Spring kind of LO). Here are a few I've done with some pink.
