Working Moms: How Do You Scrap?!

I use templates, scrap at night, and honestly, I had to make some serious decisions about how many teams I was going to carry. Right now, I am technically on 3 teams. 1 I am an admin with no formal requirements, the other doesn't release regularly, so that leaves one to consistently scrap for. It sucks because there are some fabulous calls lately that I didn't even apply for because I simply don't I have time.

Thanks for the advice, ladies.

Basically, I need to lock my daughter in her room at 8 and hope for the best. ;)

LOL! Is she still napping? If so, it will get better once she stops. When my oldest gave up his nap at 3 years old, he went from falling asleep at 10 to reliably being asleep by 8:15 or so. Before Lauren gave up her nap, she was never asleep before 9:30 and 10 was much more common. She stopped around 2, maybe 2.5, and from then on it was more like 8:30-9. She's inherited my night owl tendencies, apparently. We put all 3 kids in bed at 8, but she just doesn't fall asleep as early as her older brothers do.

I have always worked full time and scrapbooking was never an issue since I would do it at lunch or when I got home. However, I took a promotion a year ago and my life has changed so dramatically with a longer commute and sadly longer hours at work. I make it a point regardless of how tired I am to scrap my pages because it is the one thing that keeps me centered.

When I worked outside the home I had to schedule it in. Friday nights were my one night that was stay up as late as I could and just scrap. I switched to working full time at home over a year ago and sadly my scrapping went to zero due to laptop issues lol. But now I'm sticking to the same schedule - Friday nights and I'm doing some Thursday nights too because it fits with my schedule right now. Weekends are very busy and I sometimes will get some scrapping time but not too much.

Next year (as in next school year), I am cutting back on commitments in order to allow myself more time to scrap (and hopefully design since I am really missing that creative outlet). This year I volunteered for tons of stuff at my kids' schools BEFORE I was offered a job. It worked out that since my job was only part time in the mornings that I could still do everything I had volunteered for so I didn't feel the need to step down from anything. However, I spent the year stressed out and running around like a mad woman every day after I got off work. I love my job and I love doing things for my kids and their schools but I definitely need to set some limits for myself. I didn't scrap at all for the longest time and I was starting to wonder why I even bothered to keep my hard drive full of scrap stuff but then I decided to do a few challenges here and I realized how much I truly missed scrapping. The challenges just gave me a jumping off point, somewhere to start again, you know?

Yes, she still takes naps.

Her whole sleep schedule is crazy now: getting up at 7 or 8 am, crashing for 2-3 hours at my ILs' in the afternoon, up until 9 or 10, and then waking up in the middle of the night to come into our bed and sleeping off and on until the next morning. No one is getting much good sleep around here.

She'll be in daycare in the fall (if we can ever get her pottytrained!), and I'm hoping that more rigid schedule (though they do still take naps at the 3yo level) will help regulate her sleep schedule better.

She's just always been a horrible sleeper. One of those things. :)
