WOOOOOT! We have SNOW!!!!!!!!!

Granted, at this point, it's melting on contact with the ground that is saturated with the rain we've had for the last 24 hrs, but it's still SNOW! you can get teeny bit off surfaces...and it's forecast for all morning.

We are lucky to get snow once a year...more years than not in the past we usually get ice storms in Dallas. So this is awesome! We'll blame it on global warming...sorry polar bears...we prefer the snow!

I grew up in Dallas and I remember anytime it would snow or ice, everything shuts down. Good for the kids, bad for the grownups. I live in Colorado now, so I have to live with it more. But fluffy snow is alot better than ice. I hope you are getting the good stuff.

We had a tiny bit of snow but it melted like 15 minutes after we saw it. I was lucky enough to get a few pictures of my kiddos out in it! And it was the baby's first snow! :)

We haven't had any yet, though, and I'm bumming! We live in Vermont, and I can't tell you how many years we've had snow from Halloween on... but no real snow yet! And it's December?! It makes me sad! :(

Bring on the snow!!!!

I saw on our weather that it was snowing around Dallas. We live south of Shreveport. Our forecast is just for snow flurries Fri afternoon. I want it to snow so badly so my daughter can play in it. I remember it snowed all the time when I was a kid..the big fluffy kind...now NADA....I agree about the global warming.

YEAH Darcy!!

I'm in Mississippi now - have no idea what the weather is back there in Austin! I'll be pretty ticked if it is snowing there too and we missed it! My daughter is BEGGING us to take her someplace to see snow this winter, so we're planning on a roadtrip North one weekend in Jan/Feb!

Woohoo!!!! There's hope for us. Our forecast is for a 40% chance of snow showers on Friday! And we get even less snow down here in Houston than they do up in Dallas. If it does snow, that could make swimming Friday night (at an indoor pool) a little challenging - but I'm ready for it!

Ha, ha... thanks for the post... my hubby is in Dallas this week on business... he should have stayed home in Wisconsin... not snowing here... well, yet. :p

Woot! Have fun in your snow Darcy!

You know now that they are forecasting snow it won't happen. LOL! They should keep their mouths shut and not say anything! Like 5 years ago when there wasn't a mention of snow and we got almost 6 inches.

So jealous! Hope you enjoy it. There are predicting some for us on Thursday or Friday, I think, but I always get my hopes up and then they come crashing down. I lived in Tulsa, OK when I was a little girl and it knew how to snow there:D. I wish my kids could see a good snow like that and we would actually get enough to build a snowman.

You actually might be getting some - especially on Friday!

Having lived down in Texas, I know how rare it is to get snow (and usually when you do get it, it's ice), so yay! We were supposed to get some flakes on Thanksgiving, but now it's looking like sometime tomorrow that we'll get the first flakes of the year. I hear it's supposed to be a bad winter though...

it's soooooo wet though! My girls already "played" in it today, but I don't like it!!

Well apparently we aren't special enough to get it here north of Dallas! Sigh, cold rain and that is it! Enjoy it for me, I love watching it come down!

Enjoy the snow! We are supposed to get some Saturday but honestly I hope we don't. I heard in PA this winter is supposed to be really really cold with lots of snow. No!!! I just want sunshine and warm temps :) LOL

enjoy it :) they had MAJOR snow here in Oak Harbor last year {of coarse while I was in the DESRT }, so hopefully I will get the chance to enjoy the snow some with the kids this year!

Its supposed to snow in San Antonio Friday, I'm crossing my fingers, I can't remember the last time it did!

:) We are expcting "snow" here in Austin Friday--- of course, it'll probably happen mid-morning which means me and the kids will already be at school. And $20 says many of my students won't show so I COULD sleep in instead. We'll see! Goodness knows when we get snow (last time was 2/14/2004 and in the 90s before that) the town SHUTS DOWN- same story with ice and sleet which is what we get more often. I'll be sure to get TONS of pics if it really does snow here!

I hope it stays away until all the robotic teams are back home safe and sound from Ft. Smith Arkansas!

Actually we don't have harsh weather here in Kansas City...it was really cold and windy today but that was it. I think this summer had to have been the MILDEST I can ever remember!! I couldn't believe it...July 19th at the drive-in and we were freezing when the sun went down! Usually it's 100+ and muggy!

oh DANG! no way!! we're planning to drive back to TX from MS on Friday, which means we'd miss it! And I looked at the 10 day forecast - back up to the low 70s again next week!!

hmmm...DH and I are contemplating returning late tomorrow now so we can see the snow!!

It was so pretty (I'm in Plano). The boys were so bummed they had to go to school and of course it was all melted by about 11:00 am. Silly me forgot to take pics so I hope we get more
