This was taken a couple of hours ago, and it's even more now - we're up to 2" and the snow hasn't stopped, but has slowed down. We may get up to 4" by the time it's over tomorrow. For us - it's HUGE!

Sad thing...Aiden was already sick, and Connor woke up sick...and it hit him hard. No playing outside much in the cold wet stuff when your chest and head are full of gunk :(

Oh too bad that the kiddos are sick. Maybe you can get some pics of them looking out the window at it. If it's the kind of snow where you can make snowballs, when we were kids we would go to the window and my dad would throw snowballs at the window (obviously not too hard). But it was always good for a reaction.

I'll send them out for a little while. They can't have this kind of snow and not get to play.

This is the perfect snow..great snowballs (that's how I woke them up...throwing snowballs at them in bed lolol), and it'll be a treat for a little while. Just not much. poor guys.

ROTFL, what a fun mom you are! Hubby wasn't thrilled about the Dallas snow...that's his daily run (OKC-Dallas-OKC)...he isn't impressed with Texas drivers in the snow. LOL

But you know what's funny - more than half of TX drivers are from the places where they have snow ROFL All those yanks moving down here to TX..and they blame all the bad driving on us :P

But yeah - we're not used to driving in the stuff so get pretty stupid when it shows up. Surprisingly, though, public school wasn't cancelled. It might be tomorrow if this stuff ices up overnight.

LOL, no joke! I remember when I was growing that was such a huge complaint in Houston...you used to be able to wave at other drivers...people were easy-going. Then came the influx of people during the oil boom and the only thing that got waved at you was a single finger ;)

I know, we have tons! It was barely snowing when we woke up, but now it's huge flakes and coming down quite a bit!!! I wish Shane had stayed home, it's supposed to snow all day!! I need to take a picture, it's beautiful!

OK - seriously?? I'm thinking of taking the rest of the day off, getting the kids out of preschool and driving up to see the snow!! hmmm....off to see if I can cancel some afternoon meetings!!

It's gonna be here all day, Beckie - there's no chance of this stuff melting away today - IF you do - BE CAREFUL It's not icy, but stupid people are still stupid people LOL

Well, I lied.

Beckie..if you're serious, it's already starting to melt. The boys are outside now and we noticed that the streets and sidewalks are clear, and it's melting in the yard already.

It'll turn to ice when we drop down to 28 or whatever it's supposed to be tonight. :(

Snow up here in North Texas too, but still they had school. Its just slushy though so its OK.

But sorry Darcy, those drivers down there in DFW are bad all year round. I'm sure you (and a lot others) are good drivers, but we are from a big city originally and man...DFW drivers are idiots. So I'd be scared to go out in the snow there. Something about driving pick-up trucks make people feel they are invincible. Um...hello 4x4 helps you start, but doesn't do a darn thing if you slam on your brakes! Sorry...I'm from MN originally and spent a year in OH so I know how it CAN be done.

But yay for snow for you there! Maybe you can freeze some snowballs for the boys for when they are feeling better. This is a crazy winter here in TX isn't it?!!! I channeled my MN heritage and donned the snowpants and boots and DS and I walked to school this morning. Figured it was safer than driving!

Yours is melting Darcy? Ours is still here and it's still snowing and definitely NOT melting. I don't care for snow and cold at ALL but I couldn't resist building this just now with my 5 year old. Now I want Shane to come home and build a snow child and dog for us. ha!

We always freeze some snow for summer -it's fun! We're also making snow ice cream, so they're going to love that. And we did go out for a little while. Threw some balls, made a wee snowman, then came back in to hunker and watch a movie. They're predicting even more for tomorrow..so hopefully we'll have more time, especially with Daddy home because he's just going to take the day off.

Sarah - yep..it's beginning to melt. There's still snow everywhere, but when you pull up that top layer, you can see that it's melting, and all the sidewalks and street are clear now, and you're beginning to see bits of grass that you couldn't see earlier.

now I'm way impressed with that snowman! We just didn't stay out long enough to try. When Connor started coughing again, we just headed back. Daddy's going to build them one later.

I can see how you'd be very excited, but frankly i'd be happy to send the lot of this snow from h e double hockey sticks to you, lol. I am SICK of it. Three storms in three weeks, complete with high winds and bad drifting along with big amounts. And they're saying we're supposed to get more this weekend too. I'm done with it. You all can have it,lol.

I should have thought of that! I'm so jealous! Its about 8 degrees too warm here, but we have the rain!
