Winter Storm?

I live in South Florida (planting zone 10B; we don't know from cold) and my weather app was showing a 2% chance of snow. I didn't know that was a feature of the app. I was up before the sun in case we had a flurry at sunrise but all the clouds I fell asleep to were gone. It was 29, feels like 13, so I was holding out the tiniest bit of hope.

My mom tells me stories about the time it snowed in Miami when she was in high school but I didn't get that lucky.

Do you get the lake effect snow where you are? I have a friend in Mentor that gets that all the time.
I do get lake effect although I'm not on the lake. I can't imagine living in Mentor this time of year. Or anywhere up there. Brrrrr.

Our winter in Idaho has been super mild, which I don't like! If it's going to be cold, I want snow

My bff flew me to Texas for my birthday to spend time with her. The big storm hit while I was there. It wasn't the snow I'm used to in Idaho, but it was fun to have white on the ground and roofs. Thankfully it wasn't super severe. We spent 4 days indoors working on crafts.
