winning lifetime/year supply of something...

I saw this on facebook about winning a lifetime supply of something... and it triggered a memory for me... http://mentalfloss.com/article/78729/7-times-people-were-awarded-lifetime-supplies-things

When I was in college, I won a "year supply" of tic-tacs for acing trivia about a new soap opera called, Sunset Beach. Really, I just won 20 boxes of tic-tacs... nearly not enough for a year. :D

So... have you ever won a contest where you won a life time supply or even a year supply of something? Or even won something cool in a contest?

Yes! I won "free pizza for a year!" from a local pizza shoppe on a facebook contest a few years ago. Really, it was 1 free pizza each month, so I guess TECHNICALLY it was free pizza for a year. But I wasn't like swimming in pizza or anything. LOL

I have never won a free for a year kind of thing but once I won two casino jackpots in one day. That was pretty awesome!

The coolest thing that I ever won was from SSD shadowbox contest! I got to shop all I can for 30 minutes for FREE! :D

I've never won a major contest like that, but I just had to say I loooved Sunset Beach! :p I was completely obsessed with it back in my high school days.

I have never won a lifetime of something but at my friend's son's school they raffled off a year of coffee from Peets!

I've never won a year or lifetime supply of something but I did win a Go Pro camera in a raffle and I won a lens attachment for my phone in another contest! Do you sense a theme here? :)

I won SBB's (the now defunct Scrapbook-Bytes) 24 hour crop back in, like, 2004. I managed to stay up for 24 hours straight & talk/scrap/make a ruckus in their chatroom all that time. I think one other woman & I were the only ones who made it all 24 hours.

The prize was several scrapping collections on CD (yes, everyone sold their stuff on CDs that came in the mail vs. instant downloading from a store) plus some actions from a photography website. Although not part of the prize package, I became a DTM (Design Team Member) at the site soon after because of my participation in the crop.

I can't remember ever winning anything significant. But I did just win a free "mcgriddle" from McDonald's monopoly. Lol!!!!!

I didn't win a lifeteam/year supplies or anything like that, but I did win some other cool stuff.

In 2010 I won a citytrip to New York, including a concert of Mumford & Sons. Our plane tickets, hotel and the concert was paid for. We went for 4 days.

In 2009 I won a long weekend in a Scottish castle. We visited a whiskey distillery, went on some kind of 'adventure' in the Scottish Midlands. We abseiled from the roof of the castle.

And in 2008 I won a trip to Ireland. We won a workshop of Irish dancing with the dancers from Lord of the dance and we got to see their show for free. Afterworths we got a goodiebag from Lord of the dance.

Wait...what?! That is incredible! I need to hang out with you, Sarah, and see if some of your luck rubs off on me! :p

Haha, yes, I'm with Kendall about hanging with Sarah :) This is impressive history of winning cool stuff :)
I've never won anything so cool as a lifetime/year supply of something.
I think my biggest win was a chunk of pure gold (24 karats). It weighs only 5 grams (0.17oz) but it's cool because it's one of those things the banks sell as a mean of investment (I won it from a bank, actually).

Since we're sharing other things we've won, when I was in high school, I won $1200 off a radio call-in contest.

They had a mashup of like 10 songs played in a total of 15 seconds or something. They'd play it several times a day and take the 10th caller to try to guess all the songs. If you were wrong, they'd play the same list again later. Every day or two, they'd add money to the pot.

So, if you were listening, you knew what had already been guessed.

Well, this pot went on for weeks with people getting caught on like song #8. My mom, uncle, and I had a guess as to what it was and agreed that we'd all 3 try to get in and split the prize if we won.

So, one night, I called in with my guess (The song was "Setting Me Up" by Highway 101 for any of you old-school country music fans), and I was right! Of course, I still had to get the last 2 songs right, too, so I wasn't completely relieved until the DJ said I had them all. LOL

Wasn't that the prize for our Shadowbox contest a couple of years ago? Or did you get to do it twice, and I'm forgetting? LOL

It must be that, Libby! I can't remember what it was exactly and thought it must be something big like DSD or iNSD.

haha I'd actually forgotten about that prize! I think that was my favorite prize that we've ever offered! It was so exciting to see how much you guys spent!

I have never won a lifetime supply of anything!

I have won some things..but nothing HUGE. Let's see..I won a JuJuBe bag of my choice (I chose a BFF if youre into JJB and know what that is lol) I won a goodie bag including an epiphanie bag, some natural lotions and bath products, some earrings and a print from Simple Mom. I have won some LuLaRoe giveaways (just 1 maybe?)....Those are the biggest things I can think of at the moment...

I never one big prizes but i win small prizes from time to time
thinsg like books free tickets for activities some ssd coupons and things like that
my biggest win whas a health box a few weeks ago it whas filled with some awesome healthy stuff

I don't usually win anything, but last year I won a draw (that I didn't even know I was in!). I won an Aroma Complete Essential Oil kit of 140 oils worth around US$2,500. At the time that converted to NZ$3,500.

WHAT????That's some amazing luck you have there lady!!

I'm still using my pots and pans I won on The Price is Right...that was back in 97/98?

I won a trip to see Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge a few years ago...sadly, I couldn't go. :(

:(

You were on the Price is Right?!?! That's like my dream!!!

I've never won anything very big. The biggest I have won was $100 during a scrapping contest (it was perfect timing that year as I did not have enough money for Christmas) or an essential oil collection. I don't win much.

I count myself lucky if I win the occasional SSD gift card during big events. I think the biggest one I've won was about $25. I can't think of anything else I've won. I'm sure there are other things, but they were all small.

I can't believe you were on The Price is Right!!!! We would watch that all summer when we were kids. Did you run down the aisle like a maniac? Did you get to the showcase showdown? What game did you play?

I pretty much never win anything....lol My last name is Murphy so I blame "Murphy's Law" and if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

I did win a pretty cool felt table top play tent thing for Kennedy a few years back, but that's about it. lol

Haha! No...I was not a maniac. I think I was in shock. Plus, I fighting getting sick.

So, I won the pots and pans to get on stage. I played "It's in the Bag" and won $16,000. I had to spin the wheel a few times because we kept tying. I did make it to the Showcase Showdown and lost to a professional clown from Las Vegas. My showcase included traveling trunks, an African safari and a Chrysler Concorde. I was like $10K under what the total was.

I have my episode on VHS, however, it was during the Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal so some of it was interrupted by his "I did not have sexual relations with that girl" speech. :p

Back in my college days (17ish) I won tickets and back stage passes to 98 degrees. Didn't get to go because the deadline of when they called my name was of course when I was in class. I think cell phones had just started coming out and of course I never used mine to get the message in time. Grrr

4 years ago on the anniversary of my nephew that passed away birthday /my birthday a day later I won a ipod + 50 GC to that scrap store

3 years ago I won a photo contest at a local news station for a 2 night stay in a cabin.

Those are the biggest things. I have won books and goodie bags etc.

You got to spin the wheel... how cool! I mean, that is seriously cool. I feel like I know a celebrity now, lol! And having that speech interruption almost makes this a little cooler, ha!
