Windows 11

Oh no... I was about to post this very issue today. I can't believe windows did this. I JUST got a new computer and downloaded photoshop. I haven't had time to scrapbook in years, and finding new tech doing this is a big let down. I was already stressed about learning the new creative cloud when I was so used to CS3!

but I don't think people sees what is inside in mac either? lol argh. I am hating it. and I am not sure I can change back to Win 10...

my idea today was to start a new solo, but I am almost turning my pc off for the week :crying::D

You can replace the folder icon in OS X with the preview file. It becomes second nature. (I miss my Mac so much, I’d go back immediately if I could.)

I'm still using my old Dell computer that is running windows 8! I upgraded to Windows 10 when it came out and it was horrible! I don't think this computer would be able to upgrade to 11, but I don't want to, either, LOL!

I'm still running WIN 7 on my office and home desktops. I had to replace my laptop 3½ years ago so it has WIN 10.

About 10 days ago when I turned my laptop on up popped an offer to upgrade to WIN 11 ... darn pop-up didn't want to take no for an answer, lol!

I did and it drives me nuts that I can't see what's in the folder. I didn't know you can revert back so I might just have to do that. And give my feedback.

I have PRO version and apparently I was one of the first to get it because I was telling everyone on FB and they were like "Kiana you're crazy" lol
BUt yes, it's not quite the same, but better than no preview at all

That's such good news! My laptop is starting to show it's age, but there was no way I was going to voluntarily get a new one and go to Windows 11 until the previews were back. I'm still hoping to put it off a while, but at least now I won't have to be scared of Windows 11.

I understand your frustration with losing the folder previews after upgrading to Windows 11. I had the same problem when I jumped, which was a huge disappointment.
It's good to hear that you found an article that confirmed that folder previews are no longer available in Windows 11. I ended up switching back to Windows 10 because, for me, the loss of thumbnails on my folders was a deal breaker.
If you're also considering switching back to Windows 10, keep in mind that you can purchase a Windows 10 key. You can also look for cheap windows 10 keys online.

I've still resisting "upgrading". Both my computers push it every time I restart. Hopefully they won't force it in the future until they fix some things.

Win11 already changed again, girls, months again. We have the folders again. :)

I don't. I have Windows 11 Home and it has never updated to the version (22H2) that has the previews. And, I haven't been able to figure out how to get it. I've actually gotten used to not having them so it doesn't really matter.

well shoot. I was hoping the home version would be good to go. No previews is a deal breaker for me.

Supposedly it can be updated to version 22H2 (I have 21H2 installed 4/5/22 when this computer was built by Dell) for the Home version but my windows update keeps saying I'm up to date. I just need to get the guy that does computer stuff for me to see what he can do. But he has 4 kids (one less than a year old), works full time, does paying side jobs and coaches swimming! He works me in for emergencies but I don't consider this an emergency.

I have avoided my new laptop. I did one layout on it, was done, before the thumbnails of pngs in folder showed up. Is this the way it is?
Not turned it on since

Yes, I'm quoting myself. On March 31 I had the notice that windows needed to do a large update. I could choose to do it then or schedule it for later. It said it would take awhile so I scheduled it to run at 12:30 a.m. this morning (April 1). And, now I have 22H2 with folder previews.

Funny thing is my 1 year support contract expired on March 26th and just days later I got the option to update Windows

Drag and drop works fine IF you have PS loaded and visible on your desktop. It took me a while to remember that. As long as I can see the program on my screen, I can drop any file there.

I just got a new computer with Windows 11, and it's very inconsistent about letting me drag and drop items into PSE. I am so grateful for the above comment because i would never have thought about splitting my screen. However, it's SUPER inconvenient to have to split my screen to drag items into PSE and then make PSE and my file folder full size again.

Is there not a setting I can change to make it work like it used to?

I am still hanging onto Windows 10 for dear life! It seems like 11 has been a real pain for people.
