that when the hubster is out of town all the things that will go bump in the night will? I keep hearing things and getting all freaked out thinking someone is trying to break in. It's gonna be a long night for me.
My hubby is sound asleep upstairs and I'm downstairs in the front of the house and I swear that I just heard something outside of my window too! ACK!! Call me chicken!
I hate those times!! Now my boys are older, so I just figure it's them I hear up and about! My dh has been gone 3 weeks now...and won't see him till mid August. I just stay up until I'm ready to drop, so when my head hits the pillow, I don't hear anything!!
I know that feeling, it doesnt help when the dog goes spastic at 1 in the morning because you know that there is something out there for him to bark at!!
My hubbie works either swings or nights and I totally know what your talking about ..... I always get the hebies - (Dosent help when you fall asleep to all the crime shows like forensic files and deranged)
ME TOO! I am always hyper-sensitive to every little sound at night when he is gone - don't know why that protective mode kicks in like that? And when I am like that I always image terrible things happening - its like you get yourself all worked up!
I have that problem too when DH is away at night. We have the garbage bin corral near our bedroom window & sometimes critters get in there at night & it sounds like people walking around on my porch. I wanted switches for out porchlights put in the bedroom but due to some really odd wiring in the house that isn't feasible. We had motion lights put in instead. Anything over 3 feet tall sets them off. So now when I hear noises I glance at the window, if I don't see any lights I now it's just animals. If lights are on I figure I'll go get the shotgun and pull back the curtains.
Few sights in this life are more frightening to a would be burgler than a naked, saggy, overweight, pissed off 40 year old woman with a shot gun in her hands.
IKWYM! My DH works 3 nights a week. Last week I had to call the cops because I heard one of our garbage cans get knocked over and then my doorbell rang about 4 times. TOTALLY freaked me out! I grabbed our dog that will bite if need be, a baseball bat and put both kiddos in my bed while I waited for the cops to show up. They eventually found out that it was a group of kids doorbell ditching. I was so pissed!!! :cursing:
Hugs sweetheart!! Hope you got some good rest, I totally konw what you mean, Wes worked second shift when we first moved in together years a go and I could NEVER sleep!
I don't know Paula but I've had to learn to get used to it since hubby works really late. I feel much safer where we just moved to at least.
Hope you got some sleep last night!
My hubby works third shift, I guess I must live in a small enough town that I don't even think about it. The benefits of him working third far outweigh any fears I might have about being alone in the house.
I love it that Landen gets to stay home with his daddy!
