Why I didn't get my 30 points...

last month was because of this:

We celebrated my oldest 6th birthday this last weekend and it took me all week to bake and prep for his cake. The child is obsessed with Lego Indiana Jones (he got the game for Xmas) and wanted that for his cake. We are a peanut-free house so bakery stuff is out so I have to make it (and I do enjoy it when its done).

So yeah...I made it to 21 points but then stopped there. Maybe this month I'll make it to 30!!

Wow, the cake looks awesome. What a great Mom!

I was trying for 20 points, but only started working on them about 10 days ago. After getting to 14 at 2:00 today, I had to give up. My family needed me. I will try for 30points next month.

Wow, what a fabulous cake! There's always another chance at the challenges, but this birthday only comes once. Your DS is lucky to have you.

WOW how cool is that?! My 5 year old is obsessed with ALL the lego games and even though he doesn't know who Harry Potter is told me in the dramatic tone he's developed "But MOOOOOOOOM! I HAAAAAAAAAAAVE to have the game, it's LEEEEEEEEEEGOS!!!!" LOL!

you're the best Kim! I bet he (Kyle?) loved it! That's not your other son sitting next to him is it? (it can't be, right?)

That is an incredible cake- I love the little figures! What did you make them out of?

I followed the directions in Hello Cupcake (book about decorating cupcakes)

and used melting candy that I colored. To get the designs acutally used my photoshop skillz since I could not find anywhere any coloring pages that were any good for Lego Indiana Jones. So I went to the official site (Lucas) and downloaded desktop backgrounds and then extracted the characters, printed that out then traced with a black pen onto another piece of paper the outlines and then enlarged this in photoshop.

If there had been simple coloring books/pages it would have just been easy. (Melt the candy, trace the lines on wax paper, fill in the centers, let cool, flip over and adhere to cake)

omg!!!! That is soooooo neat!!!! HUGE HUGE Indiana Jones fan here, lol. i can sit and watch those movies over and over. i also played the lego game on ps3. it was fun! :D

Wow! So cool! That is so far out of the range of my talents. My kids will never get a cake like that unless someone else makes it. I love them tons, but I could just never do it! I'm in awe!

I don't think I even want to show my son this picture because he is already obsessing about having his birthday in JUNE all Indiana Jones stuff.

You're an awesome mom!!!!
