Who's doing Elf on the Shelf this year :)

I've been posting on my blog what our little guy has been up to.

And If you're looking for a less creepy elf, check out these at elf magic. http://www.elf-magic.com/

They are cute, We have the Elf on the Shelf, I thought he was so creepy in years past so we never had one, but he's actually growing on me.

That's the one we got. He arrived today. My son told me "You know he's just a statue mom, he's not real." I thought oh crap...he can't stop believing yet. But then he said "But I bet he'll do some funny things this month like the Grinch did last year." Whew...he remembers the fun we had with our Grinch last year so he's playing along. My husband thinks that by next year there will be no Santa...sad he's only 6 and already figuring it out.

I'm soooo excited!! This will be our first year doing it so the kids will open up the box with the story tomorrow morning (December 1st) before school. We'll have to name him and read the story tomorrow night! I can't wait....I have my camera ready :)

I watched the Elf on the Shelf special on CBS with the kiddos, and now I'm regretting it! Last year, our elf just appeared in the house on Dec. 1. Now, my oldest expects him to arrive in the mail because that's the way it happened on the show. He's 8 and smart. It can't arrive in the mailbox because I don't have a key. It will have to arrive at the front door, but I'm not certain how to address the outside of the package so it will be believable...ugh!

this will be our second year. ours actually showed up last night... but the boys were running so late this morning they didn't even notice him!

When ours got here last year I just wrapped it up in brown paper to make it look like it was mailed..I addressed it to Avery and Ella at our address and then the return address I put:

Santa Clause
123 Kris Kringle Drive
North Pole 45678

I left ours under the tree and Avery totally bought it. But he hadn't seen the show last year. This year I just put him in his box with the book and left him under the tree with a note from Santa.
