Who here has a Blackberry?

Ok, so I just got a Blackberry...and I have to say, I am pretty technologically advanced. I can figure out most techie things...I could even be called a nerd...

This Crackberry, however, may as well be written in Chinese and from the Bejing Olympics...I have spent most of the night trying to figure it out.

Anyways...I have two questions:
1. Does anyone have any tricks for using these devices? (I love that it has Yahoo Messenger! I'll never be far again!)
2. Have you ever scrapped a photo for the home screen background?
 
lol I have a Blackberry Pearl and there is a definite learning curve on them. :blink: It took me a week and a tutorial from my friend's boyfriend before I learned how to navigate around on it. And I kid you not, it took me 2 days to figure out how to make it ring louder so I could hear it. :cursing: Now that I'm used to it I love it - I've got both my email accounts set up on it and my facebook account. I'm not much help with either of your questions though. Just keep looking and messing with it and clicking on stuff, you'll eventually figure it out. And I never thought about scrapping a page to use as the background but that is a GREAT idea! How much fun would that be?!?! I might have a new mission . . . ;)
 
I too have a Blackberry Pearl and I :wub: it! You definitely have to play around with them a lot and just get to know it! I have put regular photos on for the background but not a scrapped page, definitely something I will look into! LOL!!
 
Hehe I have me a Pearl too...it's constantly attached to my hand! Hence my QT! haha...

I love it and it took me awhile to navigate it but once you do you will never go back to another phone again!

I have never thought of doing a page for it...may have to do that! haha
 
I have one. Not the Pearl though. I forget the number, but it's the one with the full keyboard.

I haven't put a layout on the screen, but I do use pictures I've taken as the screen.
 
I'm pretty muc obsessed wtih my pearl. I'll never not have email and internet on my phone ever again :)

But, I have no answers for your questions. I usually just use a photo I snapped with the built in camera as my background. And I've never used Y!M with it, then I'd really never get anything done! Lol!

No real tricks either. I just messed with it constantly when I first got it to get the settings I wanted and stuff. There are definitely things it can do that I don't even know about it, but whatever, lol! :p
 
Ok, so I basically have played with the darn thing all night. I have a Blackberry curve, so it has the full keyboard, which is what I wanted b/c I text like a maniac. I have figured some stuff out, but now I want to get a memory card and such. Oh, and I actually didn't scrap a page, but I used a paper from Zoe's Surf's Up kit as the background. It was pretty easy, I created a document that was 640x480, then I resized the paper, dragged it in, and saved it as a JPG. Then I used the media whatever to transfer it to my Curve, and set it as the background. I'll try and get a picture of it...oh and Holly, I am fairly sure that it will become part of my hand as well, lol.
 
I also have the Pearl and it's a love hate relationship. The first week it wouldn't ring - my temp. internet files were full - wth? ok - so lesson? turn your phone off at least once a day if you surf from it.

And here? HERE is where I get my ringtones that are already prepared for the blackberry.

and yes. my homescreen has a scrapped picture. I used a rectangle (not a far stretch for me) base - and it's working nicely.

I have a blackberry curve and I spend soooooooo much time on it. LOL

I just learned how to do things by playing around. But I have just been using a reg picture as my background.

Can you tell me how I get it from my computer to my phone as a background?
 
Since we're talking about it, has anyone been able to get music from their pc to their Blackberry? I want to use some of my itunes music as ringtones. Is that even possible?
 
haha Aaron...it'll become attached quickly beware!!

I use Themes4BB for my phone themes...it's awesome!! Sometimes I use a picture I have taken but ya...i lub my themes!

Heather: The music has to be in a special format to be a ringtone...sorry but i have no idea how to convert them! I got here for all my free ringtones..
 
yeah, I use desktop manager and then media manager to get my pictures and stuff over to my curve. When you open media manager, you locate the files and then copy them to your device.
 
Hmmmm I'm pretty sure it did. I got it brand new in May.

Ill have to ask my boyfriend how to do it.

I just dl'd my tunes to the phone. Then I went in and added them to the person I wanted custom ringtones for. I did not do anything special to them and they work!
