this is Hattiesburg - a big college town. My sister used to live here..just down this highway actually and Camp Shelby is there. Brian had JUST gotten home from the weekend there before all this came through thank goodness.

they haven't said how big it was yet..but it stayed on the ground almost all the way across the state from LA to AL. Thankfully only minor injuries but major damage to The University of Southern MS. Scary stuff.
 
I was seriously thinking about you last night when I saw the news..I thought you were pretty close. Glad you are safe!
 
I just saw from the National weather service that it was an F4 with max winds of 178 mph and was just over a mile wide at it's largest point. That is one big tornado and it is a blessing there were no lives lost, especially in such a big town. Many many homes destroyed. This town was also one of the hardest hit during Katrina too.
