LOL ok I'm just really curious.. this isn't so we can have a big ole debate or anything.. Just with all the political posts of late I wanted to *see* where everyone stood

(wait for poll please :) )

Republician. But I bet you knew that.

Interesting poll. I wonder also if people choose their affiliations because of life experience, how they were raised or because of issue beliefs.

Republican! Woot woot! But I must say, I don't always agree w/ the majority Republican view.... I just lean more towards Rep than Democrat.

Amanda! That is why we get along so well. We are opposites! :D

I am very liberal, but my hubby is middle of the road conservative. Sometimes opposites attract, don'tcha think? We have been married for 16 years this October (and I don't think we have ever voted for the same president/senator/mayor, etc.).

Great poll!

republican on most issues related to government/military/econimic issues. Environment not so much republican...not sure what Id be considered there.

I'm registered Rep...still unsure of my vote this year though. I'm really torn but leaning toward voting Republican. I agree and disagree with issues on each side.

my DH and I very rarely discuss politics..we're both very passionate and hot headed about how we feel lol..I'd rather not fight

I chose Democrat since I rarely vote any other party. For the most part, the democrats line up with my stance on the major issues. My choices are based entirely on my own opinions since my parents never shared their political leanings with us as kid, ever. I still don't know who my parents have voted for in past elections, though I'm pretty sure I'd guess right if asked, lol!

I'm a conservative (on abortion) democrat :) My parents are STAUNCH republicans so democrat is a choice I made, not how I was raised :)

I choose republician because of how I was raised and the beliefs my parents taught me, in addition to agreeing with most of the issues.

my opinions are my own.. not my parents :)

ETA: LOL I didn't mean that the way it sounded.. my parents aren't political at all. We just never discussed these things. Well we did once or twice, and it was a huge argument LOL. I am 99% sure my mom agrees with me NOW.. but they didn't have much influence over what I've come on my own now.

I actually did not know my parents were Republicans until I voted in my first election.....They told me ( when I asked ) that it was none of my business and when I am old enough to vote it should be based on MY beliefs, not theirs

Independent for me, I'm about half and half on most party issues, so I'm still not sure if I'll vote this year. I think either side will be good for the country.

I am a registered independent, and it drives my IL's a bit insane ("Don't you know you can't vote in the primaries?!?!?!?" I tend toward the conservative side when it comes to moral issues and more towards the liberal side on fiscal issues. That being said I hate politics for the most part, candidates for public office scare me and I usually feel like I am going to puke the moment I drop my ballot in the box.

I typically vote Republican if you look at it that way, but I look at each of the candidates and if I agree with their views, etc and don't just vote because of their party.

I'm registered Republican and will vote that way this year. However, a lot of my beliefs are middle of the road and if I liked a Democrat candidate enough, I would not hesitate voting for them.

My mother is a staunch Democrat who bases her beliefs on the mainstream media and my father is registered Democrat but is like me and is more middle of the road. I cannot even discuss politics with my mother... she goes totally nutso. LOL!!!

Interesting that half of the poll is rep vs. dem (at the time of this post), but most of the comments to the thread are rep. I'm mostly democratic.

Just wanted to add that my dad is republican (I think my mother is... not sure... I don't know her that well), but I didn't just pick that party b/c "that's how I was raised." Most my religious beliefs fall in line w/ Republican views on the highly controversial stuff (abortion, marriage, etc.) but the smaller stuff like environmental policies and SOME welfare/public assistance programs I lean more toward the democratic view.

You know..if the media was unbiased it would really help people I think listen to the canidates and form their own opinions. The media however ruins it I think for a lot of people AND canidates.

registered republican and will definately vote that way this year, although i tend to lean middle of the road with my stance on issues. mostly, my morals tell me to be a conservative and so it is.

I am registered independant. My beliefs are republican. Here is a humdinger, I don't hate Bush. My financial outlook is very grim, is that really Bush's fault? I was raised in a non political house. I was ignorant to politics completely until the last election, when it became blazingly obvious to me that I am republican. But I believe that politics and religious debate have a place, and that is not in my scrapbook next to my pictures of my children. KWIM? This is where I come to find happiness and prettiness and politics is an ugly business.
That was not a conservative sort of response, now was it?

Uh neither lol American elections are nothing to do with me lol. I can barely gather up interest in ours lol. Hugs Crystal xx
