Where do you print your photo books?

I mostly have used Shutterfly because I would get good coupons... ie free. ;) They have been skimpy this year... I also like all my albums 8x8... I'm OCD that way.

I have tried Mixbook for my huge Disney album... 157 pages (but it's 8.5x8.5 gasp!)... and over all I was pleased. I did have an issue that a few pages were creased, but contacted them right away and they shipped a new one out - on express shipping!! I was going to use viovio for this album because others have had good success with them... but they couldn't give me an exact date as to when I would get it and I was on a deadline to have it by thanksgiving.
 
Right now playing around with Picaboo and I don't like the layout options. Prob not going with them.
 
I have only used Blurb and Shutterfly. I LOVE my big 12x12 200 page Blurb book. The quality is impeccable, but it was pricey.
 
I usually use Shutterfly because of the coupons, but have decided to print my next two books with Blurb. I downloaded their book smart program on my computer and have already laid out the pages that I've done. It's just inspirational to be able to look at it as I go along the way.

Yes! I loved the book smart program. I love that it's actually on my computer and not online-based.
 
I haven't used Adormapix (is that how you spell it?) But I know TDD has a code out there for 40% - which brings their prices down! Though I would share :)

Oh, yes. I ordered matte/premium paper from Blurb and it is thicker. The colors are precise, nice & rich, although perhaps a little darker than Shutterfly. The biggest difference for me is the quality of the paper the book is lined with. It's not smooth plain paper. It's gray and has a nice texture (like linen-ish). The hardcover itself is also nice and covered in a nice eggshell-matte paper and much heavier than the one on my shutterfly book.
 
I'm about to try Adoramapix with the 40% coupon from TDD. I like the layflat option, and the photo quality print as opposed to the press printing that most places do.

Ok, so i just uploaded my Project Life pages using Blurb and guess what I discovered?

I never scrapped week 52 :blink:

What in the world? So now I'm scrapping Christmas week and trying to remember things to journal. <face palm>
 
I have printed with MyPublisher, Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Adoramapix and by FAR my favorite was Adoramapix. In fact, I think I will only ever order from them again - I will have to just wait for coupons & sales because they are more expensive but it's noticeable in quality, too!

Sara - the adoramapix coupon TDD has is good until the end of November and you can use it multiple times :) just wanted to let you know!

I've used Shutterfly and tried Adorama during a recent free book sale (which they don't do often). I was very impressed with the Adorama quality and the lay flat pages. I was able to put pictures across the page divide, and they weren't broken up like with a Shutterfly book. It's going to be hard to go back to Shutterfly after printing one with Adorama!

But I found the actual book-making interface frustrating. It worked fine for the pages I'd scrapped and just needed to upload, but not as well for the pages where I was putting several photos on a blank page with their book-making system. It could have been the fault of too many people using the system during the end of the sale, but it was extremely slow and some things that had uploaded and showed fine in my preview didn't save correctly and were left out of the final book. Next time if I want any photos on a white background, I'm planning to arrange it all in PS and just upload it as an 8x16.

Brook - I'd love to see a picture of your 12x12 200 page book.

I so would love to do photo books instead of cumbersome albums, but I'm very deeply invested in albums since I started paper-scrapping 14 years ago and my paper and digi layouts coexist. :) Oh, and I don't scrap chronologically.
 
I have also only done shutterfly due to the great codes. But I'm determined to do my next book on Adorama. Everyone raves about it.
 
Well, I just ordered my 2012 PL book through Blurb earlier... eeee! I'm sure you will hear all about it when it arrives. This is my first full-length book ever, only printed a small one through Shutterfly several years ago. I'm so excited!

My main albums are postbound since I don't scrap chronologically but want my albums to end up that way. But I love photobooks for vacation albums! I do a mix of digi layouts and super simple pages (just photos on a solid background, sometimes with a few embellishments), and it's so nice to be able to finish an entire vacation in a few days! Before I started doing vacations this way, the photos would sit on my computer for years because I didn't want to deal with the overwhelming number of vacation photos.

I have used viovio.com also and been happy with them until this last book. In the last book I had a couple of pages that were pixelated. It looked like the page hadn't uploaded completely before it was printed. I am going to be printing one more book with them, and if it happens again, I'm done. Thanks for letting us know all of the other options.
 
I have ordered from VioVio, AdoramaPix, Shutterfly...and I think that's it. While Shutterfly and VioVio are fine enough...Adorama blows them out of the water. I have a lay flat book that I could just sit and look at over and over and over. The pages are on actual photo paper and way thick. It is stunning for sure! That being said...they are very expensive...even with a coupon you'll spend more money than at VioVio. The quality difference is off the charts though. I noticed textures in alphas and papers on my printed page that I never noticed on the computer screen.
