I live in the Ottawa region and we aren't even celebrating, cause I have strep throat and youngest DS has a fever. Bummer! :(

I spent the day so far working, and I have more work to do yet. Tony took the kids to a garden party thing this afternoon and they had a blast!
 
Haha, I'd forgotten...we were on our way out for the day and the kids could hear firetrucks and sirens and stuff - Mason's like "there's a FIRE somewhere in town" and freaking out, lol...I remembered that there was a parade down main street this morning. Oops. There'll be fireworks tonight, but I'm not even sure where they are going to be...kids will probably be sleeping before they start, anyway.

Funny story, last night I heard a crack of a firework, I was like "oh yeah, it's Canada Day" and then carried on...didn't hear any more, though...so I texted a friend and was like "wow, that was the saddest fireworks display this town has ever put on" haha. Yeah, fireworks weren't last night, they're tonight...they must have just been testing. Hehe.
 
Stephanie, I'm in the Ottawa area too, right near Jacques Cartier park. It's noisy, but so far things are under control....we got a birds-eye view of the Snowbirds this afternoon as they flew in formation over our house. Can't wait to take some firework shots tonight with my new Canon XS.
 
We just got back from my parents house and I'm uploading pics to FB right now :) We were going to go to the fireworks but decided the weather wasn't that great so it wouldn't be worth having the kids stay up until almost 11.
 
Happy Canada Day!

Just got home after day with the family. Went downtown for a little street fair, and then to the park to fly kites, and then to a bbq at the in-laws. Now I am ready for a nap :)
 
We just got out of the pool and put 2 kiddos to bed and the other is still outside with Daddy.

Yah...we're big partiers here too! LOL

We've done all the town events, wearing the Tshirts had our mandatory BBQ, and just waiting a couple hours for a fire with smores and fireworks!

We have THE best view from our new deck! (which doesn't have a railing and needs some finishing touches, but we can sit on it! YAY)

We're so cheesy! LOL

hope you all had an amazing Canada Day. Me and the family just chilled out at the campsite ... trip to the beach for a few hours, then a walk through the park and playground. We did the tourist thing last night at the visitor center at the campground, and after we put the kids in the trailer watching Curious George on DVD, while Des and I sat outsite playing Cribbage and having a few drinks. lol We listened to all the fireworks and such going off.
