When does your school year end?

This is the last week of school for my kids here in AZ. My daughter has a few exams to finish up and my son is "graduating" from Middle School so they are both excited to be done.

When does school get out for your kids? Will they be glad to be done with the year?
 
We homeschool, so I set the calendar. ;)

We finished up last week, and we'll start our next school year on June 26 to allow for lots of breaks and days off during the year.
 
Kindergarten ended last Friday so they could do assessments this week. The rest of the district gets out this Friday at noon. We can't wait! I'm sick of 3:00 pickup time ha!

I have one more in school. She is ending 10th grade tomorrow and can NOT wait! She hates it here. We moved here and she started in Jan. From Orlando to a small town in SE Alabama. Poor kid. We are leaving for a three week road trip next week so she is also super excited to go!
 
My oldest was done school May 11, but that's because we made special arrangements with the school to let her out two weeks earlier.

My middle, is homeschooled, but will be done on Thursday with the rest of the district. She does have to take an end of the year test assessment, but I told her she do that next month as there is no deadline for that.

So two more days!!

And yes, we are ALL so excited to have school out. I went home from homeschooling both my girls to traditional school and then homeschooling one of my girls. I miss having all the kids home during the daytime and look forward to almost all of them home during the summer!
 
Our school year is different from yours. We start at the beginning of February, and finish mid December. We then get our 6 week summer holidays over Christmas and New Years. We also have a minimum of 2 weeks break inbetween each term.
 
June 27th. It was supposed to be June 29th but they backed it up two day about a month ago to allow for stuff to be moved around the school (it's merging with a smaller elementary in town, at the location of my daughter's school)
 
6/23 ... we still have another month left. I prefer the later release date to maximize the better weather in our area.

I can totally relate to that! That's one of the reasons we start back with our homeschool in July. We have triple digit temps in July, and it's sooooooo stinkin' humid and miserable out. I'd rather stay inside and do school so we can afford to take more days off when the weather is nice in the fall & spring.
 
This is my kids' last week. I feel both excited about the end of the school year (YAY for no more early mornings) and sad about the loss of a quiet house during the day. Summer days are long with 3 kids in the un-airconditioned house.
 
Mid December... same as Jacinda, our school year runs January-December. Our two week end of term break is coming up soon though (June 30th).
 
My daughter is done with classes on June 12, has senior march that afternoon (a tradition where the current seniors take their last walk through the school with the current juniors (her class) and "turn" the school over to the rising seniors). She then has final exams June 13-June 16.

ETA: To answer the 2nd part, yes, she'll be glad to be out but she has a busy summer with working and an internship. She also has studying for the SATs to do and working on some college application essays over the summer. She's super excited for her senior year to begin though.

June 29th for the students and June 30th for me. (the 27th is when exams start, I work in a high school)

My son finished up his year of college April 28.

We all go back the day after Labour Day.

My oldest finished her college semester a couple of weeks ago. My middle schooler is out June 1st. It can't come soon enough.

I grew up in the Northeast, and we always started after Labor Day and got out mid to late June. My relatives in NY and CT are still on that schedule. I didn't know that most of the country did it differently until people here at SSD started discussing their last days years ago!

We get out on 6/23. For now my kids can't wait, but when the day actually comes I think my youngest will be equal parts sad and excited. She's switching to a magnet program for the rest of elementary school, and although she has some friends switching with her she'll be leaving most of her close friends.

As for me, the school I teach at ends a week or 2 before my kids' school, depending on the year. That's always my favorite week of the year. :thumbup:
 
Tomorrow is the last day. He's sort of excited, but he goes to a summer daycare, so it doesn't change too much for him in the summer. He's not thrilled about it this year though cause most of his friends will no longer be there.
 
My 9th grader finished her exams Monday so that was her last day and my 7th grader finished on Tuesday.
 
Technically not until June 1, but my daughter will take her final exam on May 30, so that will be her last day. I can't freaking wait! The end of the school year is always so stressful, and I'll be happy for us all to get a break for a few months.

Yes, it is stressful and I remember how much I hated exams so I feel bad for my kids having to study so hard! My kids just finished today so WHEW!
 
June 9th is our last day..finally! My daughter is not in a big rush since we are moving this summer. Usually, she is ready for summer but is worried about missing her friends.
