What's your favorite place to find inspiration?

I like to look through the gallery when I need inspiration, but for the most part, I use my photos for inspiration - I have been having to dig a bit more to find photos to scrap as our grandkiddos don't visit us as often as they did when they were younger (b/c they are so involved in school activities, etc ... on a side note, it makes me sad to see them grow so quickly - lol). I really need to concentrate of "everyday events" to scrap!

I do love me some Pinterest... but as silly as it seems some of my favorite pieces come out of my trying to avoid searching for other digital scrapbooking layouts!! Instead I search for things like mixed media art or themed words depending on the page that I'm working toward.

So like if I search for something like: butterfly art I get images like this:

and then I turn them into layouts like this:

I think that's why I like the magazine challenges so much... because it's grabbing inspiration from juuuuust outside of the scrapbooking world but it's easy enough to translate into a layout.

I get inspiration from all around me too though! It could be a quote from one of my kids, or a lyric from a song, or a photo that is just begging to be scrapped. Inspiration is everywhere if you open yourself up to it!

You create such amazing layouts!

I know how you feel! Our two oldest grands graduate from high school this spring. Where does the time go? I am like you. I need to scrap everyday moments more.

I usually take inspiration from photos or a kit I'm itching to play with. (For example: I went to the aquarium and came home with a TON of photos. I turned a Cheryl template set into porthole windows and used two of Tracey's kits to build coral reefs and underwater scenes.)

I do occasionally see things on Pinterest or in the gallery that spark an idea but I often won't act on it unless a challenge makes me.

I enjoy looking at Pinterest for ideas (I have a "to scraplift" sub board from my digiscrapping one.) Sometimes they can help with ideas for challenges or specific photos.

Otherwise, I am inspired by my own photos or from the gallery.

If anyone needs inspiration, I do save my layouts on Pinterest (I have 1,751 pins) as well as on my blog. I prefer to scroll through the layouts on Pinterest as it provides them all at once.

@karlimarie My favorite layout of yours is the last one with all the text around your head. And yes, 867-5309 floats around my head aimlessly as well. :ROFLMAO:
