What's the grossest food product ever?

I'm convinced I must love gross food. Mushrooms are the best. In fact, I am obessed. Greek yogurt is awesome. And eggnog is my favorite holiday treat. I even put it in my coffee. Vegemite is odd, for sure but not bad. My Australian friend, James, made me eat it a few times. Anyways, I realize I'm probably annoying you all here. Haha...

Let me think of something I hate... hmmm... ok! Eggplant. Perhaps I haven't learned to cook it right, but it's too squishy and flavorless for me. Like... foamy? Bleh.

I love mushrooms and greek yogurt too.. they're big time staples in my diet.. So if miss picky over here likes them... I've decided everyone else is crazy LOL

I wasn't thinking of anything in particular (I'm Chinese and can eat almost anything you throw at me) and then I saw... COTTAGE CHEESE. I totally agree. It looks and feels like puke. Why would anyone eat that? I used to have a classmate in college who would dip mandarin oranges in it and eat it in front of me, just to see me squirm. Yuck!

Durian too, both the taste and texture.

My mom always made lasagna with cottage cheese. It's yummy.

Yogurt is the worst. And smoothies with yogurt. *gag*

Oh I'm with you, Grace, I hate durian!! The smell makes me yuck, the taste bleh!
I don't like tuna, vegemite and anchovies.

I'm fine with eggs and most of the veggies.

Oh durian... I'd forgotten about that. I first came across it on a trip to Malaysia many years ago - my Malaysian friends made me try it - GROSS!

Oven roasted eggplant, drizzled with olive oil - is divine!

I. love. spam.
Yes, I do. I love spam and eggs. I love spam with sticky rice.
I also love eggs fried, scrambled, hard boiled, deviled but never poached and soft boiled (blech).
I love greek yogurt, cottage cheese (especially with peaches), oatmeal, mushrooms.

What I don't like - seafood - any kind of seafood smells gross to me.

All of you who love mushrooms, OMG GAG ME! It's mostly a texture thing for me though. I also don't like the texture of tomatoes, but love the taste, so I have to chop them very fine and I LOVE onions, chopped raw or cooked, love love. and TUna, love tuna.

Jak - I do think you have to be brought up with vegimite or marmite to like it, I have never had even though I'm a born and bred kiwi

I have a few gross foods though, mushrooms, canned chicken, orange cheese (that I thought was grated carrot at a salad bar in Canada)

We're a lot alike :) Except the whole Tuna thing.

All of you who love mushrooms, OMG GAG ME! It's mostly a texture thing for me though. I also don't like the texture of tomatoes, but love the taste, so I have to chop them very fine and I LOVE onions, chopped raw or cooked, love love. and TUna, love tuna.

i love eggs, mushrooms, avocado, spam, tuna, frosting, onions peppers, oatmeal and i make my own yogurt and water kefir. i don't like milk kefir though.
i don't have a problem with the taste and texture of durian (not gross but neither like) it's the smell i can't stand, it won't go away.. burps, smell in the fridge, the container, the entire room...

i don't like bitter gourd, organ meats (liver, heart, lungs, etc), pork vein, balut (those that are way past looking like boiled eggs anymore), Never seen cottage cheese before.

I can't handle slimy textures in food. Fat in meat (chicken skin, tendons in the chicken, etc) is a no-go. So is anything other than very well done...if I see pink, it's not going in my mouth.

But aside from agreeing with a lot that you all have listed so far...hot dogs. I ate then when I was a kid, but then in 5th grade we watched a film (on those big ol' projecters) that showed how they were made. Haven't eaten one since.

I love seafood. I grew up on the Gulf of Mexico so seafood is what I grew up on. I love mushrooms too! and eggplant. I like yogurt but sometimes have to choke it down. oatmeal is good.

I used to love and now I can't stand, those little vienna sausages in a can. And my husband has pretty much turned my off of cream of chicken soup. He eats it straight from the can. BARF! I make it something similar from scratch these days.

Ugh hotdogs. My dads best friend is the 'meat man' at our local culinary college, and he decided to explain in great detail what went into hotdogs to me when I was little. No. No more. Never. Barf.
