What's for Breakfast?

We eat the same things for breakfast every day, and I'm so bored with it: Toast & Eggs or Oatmeal. Cereal isn't an option, mostly because my family goes through a box a day & I can't afford that but also because they need a second breakfast two hours after eating a bowl of cereal. So...

What do you eat at your house?
 
I'm pretty habitual when it comes to breakfast. I eat Fage greek yogurt with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries mixed with about a ½ cup of Great Grains raisin, date and pecan cereal. It's literally my favorite meal of the day! My kids eat oatmeal, cereal or eggs/bacon.
 
Chinese buns, cereal, oatmeal, toast with jam/Nutella, sometimes some bread from the bakery.
 
My weekday work schedule means that I tend to eat an early breakfast and a late lunch, so I need something filling. Weekdays I have melted cheese with a protein (either egg whites or a vegetarian meat substitute) on a whole wheat English muffin or a whole grain tortilla. I'll eat a piece of fruit with that or as a late-morning snack. Weekends I sometimes make an omelette with broccoli or sauteed mushrooms and onions.

My oldest likes to have peanut butter pancakes (mini-pancakes sandwiched together with pb in the middle). My middle child eats lots of things, but his favorites are pancakes, waffles, crackers and cheese, eggs, and cereal. My youngest isn't much of a breakfast eater. She'll have yogurt, a small bowl of cereal, bread or English muffin with butter, or a waffle.
 
Breakfast is our favorite meal! We've mostly stopped doing cereal as I realize how bad it actually is for us, and so expensive to keep stocked in the pantry!

Hard boiled or fried eggs with fresh fruit is my go-to lately. Sometimes I make bacon and we have that, too. We have a waffle maker, so I make waffles occasionally. Whole grain banana nut ones are our favorite. If we have veggies like peppers, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, or ham etc. on hand I will make omelettes instead of plain eggs. My kids love french toast. It's a great way to use up semi-stale bread, so I only make it if we have a loaf about to go bad. I like making steel cut oats with soymilk instead of regular rolled oats oatmeal, it has a different texture. We serve it with a 1/2 tsp brown sugar and sliced bananas. The kids go through phases where they love grits with a dab of butter and fruit on the side. Or Greek yogurt and English muffins / toast with different jams (I have a weakness for orange marmalade). Regular sugary yogurts don't hold their appetites well enough, only the Greek yogurt keeps them full until lunch.

Protein shake, toast with pb & honey or jam, eggs with toast (fried eggs in a basket, scrambled eggs, over easy eggs, etc...), breakfast burritos, cereal, oatmeal, or french toast. I don't like sausage or bacon so I don't usually cook that...and I dread having that smell in my house.

My current fave is overnight oats! Brian and I have had it every morning this week. It's so good!
 
Given I'm up at 4.15am some mornings to go to work breakfast has to be something that can be done on auto-pilot... so cereal for me and the kids - a mixture of raw oats, weet-bix, bran and a seed/grain mix I make myself. I usually put it all in the bowl the night before so we just have to add milk, yoghurt and fruit the next morning.

The days I don't get up so early breakfast is still much the same - at the moment, because its winter, we're having porridge with all the above seed/grain mix, yoghurt, fruit, etc piled on top.

I often think I should mix it up a bit occasionally and cook eggs or something, but really, I don't have a whole lot of time to cook in the mornings. I'll happily cook an omelette as a meal for dinner though!
 
I either have a protein shake or greek yogurt with fresh pineapple or strawberries and a little bit of Kind granola on top. If I'm eating a full meal with the family then it's either french toast or a breakfast burrito.
 
I'm horrible about not eating breakfast, unless it's like a really big breakfast, eggs, sausage, etc.

Most of the time I have these little cottage cheese packs that have peaches you mix in and a banana. I'm not a cereal person, I'll have a bowl here and there, but it would take me several months to finish one box probably.

The hubby on the other hand loves cereal, I buy him two boxes a week. The kids I try to mix it up for them, cereal, pop tarts, bagels, frozen waffles.
 
I'm boring too with my breakfast, it is bread with butter and rapsberries/strawberries jam or chocolate with fruit juice and tea.
the Sunday we sometimes have croissants and chocolate breads.
My favourite breakfast would be eating eggs and bacon or pancakes or pain perdu but it's not common here so I still eat the same thing!:)
We have cereals but nobody really eat it and the same problem 2 hours after everybody gets hungry...
 
We have chickens... you can guess what I eat for breakfast every day. ;) We are overun with delicious, fresh eggs so breakfast is a no-brainer! This morning it was fried eggs. Yesterday I made breakfast burritos. The day before that an omelet.
 
I'm on a low carb diet so it's a lot of eggs for me. I recently discovered microwave ready bacon which makes it SOOOOOO easy to make bacon. Love that stuff. It comes in packs of 4 that you literally just take out of the box and put in the microwave to cook for 3 minutes. I don't eat a lot of bacon, so it's a perfect, small, easy amount to cook and have for a few days (and no clean-up of bacon grease!). So, for breakfast, I'll often have an egg, avocado slices and a slice of bacon just to amp up the flavor. When I can't take eggs anymore, I'll sometimes make a yogurt parfait kinda thing with yogurt, fruit and nuts or oatmeal.
 
I either drink a protein shake or eat a protein bar most days. Sometimes I will have toast or an apple with PB or cereal. Kiddo eats at school or daycare. On days off, he makes cereal or Eggos.
 
Good reading all of the breakfast menus on the other side of the world)) I chop tomatoes then fry it quick on a pan with drop of olive oil garlic salt paper, put this "bruschetta" on a plate, then make few toasts, then mix olive oil (hot) with local mix called zaatar (use for dipping), then put on plates some cottage cheese, dried apricots, plums, walnuts, and make earl grey tea or oolong tea. All of that takes under 10 minutes to make. I like it to be many small bites on the table available like a buffet. Always add honey. Or sometime make fried eggs with mushrooms, or with tomatoes, and add fresh salad leaves slightly dressed with olive oil and apple vinegar. Or some time put on few peaces of bread sliced tomatoes and cheese and baked it for 10 min. I love picking up ideas for breakfast around the world wherever we travel. Love reading "breakfast" menus at good bakeries/restaurants. Another time I make crepes with jams or sour cream or honey on a side - also very fast to make.

Cheerios and a Pink Lady apple a few hours later every day. The less I think about food the better.
 
Try a breakfast casserole or frittata that you can keep in the fridge for numerous meals, just needing to reheat in the morning.
