What's cooking at your house this week?

I always like to see what others are making for dinner/lunch at their house this week.

We're out of my staple - boneless chicken breast, but have pork chops and some party food left so here's what I'm looking at....lazy, lazy me this week!

Mon - Smoked porkchops (made them in the smoker sat AM), oven roasted potatoes, apples, potato salad, cole slaw (left over)

Tues - Brunswick stew (left over smoked chicken) and Lipton Noodle soup, grilled sandwiches, pineapple

Wed - Pork stir fry with veggies and brown rice, whatever fresh fruit we have left.

I'll be making Chex mix, chocolate dipped strawberries and homemade salsa to take on our trip to New Orleans (we leave Thurs night) so I have a short week this week. :)

So far we've having tacos... I'm pretty good at menu planning...until I get pregnant. Then I think about dinner when DH arrives home and asks.......

I have got a planner for the week but I can't reach it at the min lol.

Tonight we are having chicken curry and rice. Nice and easy for my first day alone with the 3 kids, eek!

I'm thinking of trying this recipe for gluten free monogolian beef straight from the P.F. Chang's website. Although, I already have a bag of precooked beef strips that I think I might use since they are already in the fridge.

I'm also going to be trying to make some gluten free petzel bites and some gluten free cinnamon roll pancakes. I'm modifying both recipes to be gluten free but the original recipes are pretzels here and pancakes here. For my subs to make them gluten free, I'm using King Arthur Gluten Free Flour mix for the pretzels and King Arthur Gluten Free Pancake Mix for the pancakes and just swirling in the cinnamon mix.

No plans yet for the rest of the week but I'll be watching this thread.

ugh - another week and another week to plan meals... ;)

Tonight - Gumbo (leftovers from last night)
Tue - Spicy meatsauce over spaghetti squash
Wed - hubby has his night class, just kiddo and I and he always wants pizza
Thurs - Something with Chicken - not sure what, will be watching...
Fri - pork roast... have that in the freezer
Sat - have a birthday party to go to, so I don't have to cook anything..

The plan is this:
Chicken Fried Steak w/carrots & potatoes
Salmon w/lentils & spinach
Chicken & Dumplings w/salad
Sage Pork Tenderloin w/cran apple relish
Sweet Pea Soup w/parmesan toast
London Broil w/cheesy quinoa broccoli bites
Stuffed Chicken w/roasted cauliflower

but realistically non-frozen salmon has been hard to come by lately so that might get scrapped & probably either the chicken & dumplings or the pork roast won't happen depending on how the weekend plans shape up.

Chicken fried steak is tonight but I haven't quite worked out how the rest of the week will shape up.

I plan 24 meals for the month knowing a few are likely to not happen, we'll have leftovers a couple times & either get take out or eat out a couple times and the boys will at some point demand tacos, mac & cheese or some other kid favorite at least once as well.

The full menu is up on my blog http://www.havocandmayhem.com/2013/02/monday-menu-planningecap.html

This is an easy cooking week for me. Woot!

Tonight is fettuccine with some steamed veggies.
Tuesday will be Salmon Cakes. I'll probably make some rice or couscous or something like that to go with.
Wednesday is Chili in the crockpot.
Thursday we're going to Sean's Blue & Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts, so we'll eat there.

I don't cook on the weekends, so I'm done after that. :)

Spagetti squash with italian meat sauce
Chicken fajitas
chicken stir fry with cauliflower rice
steak with mushroom onions and mashed sweet potatoes
Curry chicken salad for lunches

Tonight: Clean up the Fridge Night (Choice or: whole-wheat/veggie lasagna or chili or ??)
Tuesday: Pepper Steak & sweet smashed potoatoes
Wednesday: Chicken Tostadas with Mango Salsa
Thursday: Veggie Soup and bread
Friday: My oldest is turning 6, and requested mac'n'cheese and little smokies
Saturday: Hawaiian Meatballs, Rice and Broccoli

Wow, all of your meals sound so good! I'm frustrated with cooking lately. Or should I say, I'm frustrated that the more time and effort I put in, the less the kids like it. So I've been very lazy about cooking for them, and I'm not ready to change that yet. Every night we have fresh fruit and a vegetable with dinner, but I usually just choose those from what's ready to eat.

Monday: pasta
Tuesday: baked chicken (Italian Chicken if I finish helping DS with his homework early enough, plain if I don't) with corn on the cob
Wed: leftovers night (some chicken, some pasta, and whatever else we have)
Thurs: bean tacos and brown rice
Friday: homemade pizza? I don't think I'll feel like making what I'd planned, so I may do pizza.
Saturday: eat out (I hope!)
Sunday night: DH makes dinner for the kids while I go grocery shopping, so it will probably be chicken nuggets

my fiance would eat chicken or burgers every night if i didn't cook something different. one of my new year's goals has been to cook at least one new recipe a week. which i have been doing. a lot of times it's something in the crock pot, cause he works late. so i like to have it done whenever he gets home. most things i make are kid friendly.. cause my fiance is a big kid (:

i hope you get out of your "rut" soon!

ETA: Don't try my idea for gluten free pretzels. It was an epic fail.

Tonight we did Mexican bar: beans, rice, sauteed veggies, quesadillas, salsa, sprouts

The next two days are: whatever is in the fridge that needs to be eaten (with maybe a can of chili thrown in)!!!! LOL! We are getting on an airplane thursday morning. I want an empty fridge when we leave!

Thanks! Me, too. I'm a vegetarian and the rest of the family isn't. So if I'm not going to eat most of the entrees, the 3 kids are going to complain about them, and my DH would rather just have plain food, there's not much incentive to be creative. In our house, new recipes ---> lots of food thrown away. I make more adventurous things for myself and let the kids taste them, but so far the reaction continues to be "yuck!"

monday & tuesday chicken tortilla soup (kids will have burritos)
wednesday court of honor dinner for scouts
thursday pasta with marinara sauce
friday out to dinner
saturday something easy i can make dh doens't get home from skiing until late
sunday turkey dinner (which will lead to soup for the next two nights)

monday: man pleasing chicken, cucumbers sauteed in EVOO with balsamic vinegar on them, and asparagus (we're going 2 wks no heavy carbs)
tue: chuck roast, carrots, onions (in the crock pot)
wed. this wih the leftover roast
thur. pork tenderloin (although, i cook it in the crockpot instead of the oven)
fri. tacos

This is our house. So I gave up. I make plain stuff for DH and the boys may or may not eat it. If they don't they are on their own and usually do frozen stuff or sandwiches.

Now for tonight I'm just trying to figure out if I should use the chicken I have that is one day past the date on the package. Makes me nervous.

We don't like new things much. And I buy about 20lbs of frozen chicken breasts every 2 weeks. So that's what we have. I'm grilling 5lbs at a time. I grill every other day. I throw it on salads, rice with veggies or in a wrap. I'm not the creative. Kids love pbj for lunch every freakin day. I cave and let them 99% of the time. We are boring, but boring works for us.
