Whatcha reading?

The Host by Stephenie Meyer :) I also got The Uglies set for Christmas so I'll be reading those after I'm done with The Host. One book I just ordered from Amazon is Long Way Down: The Illustrated Edition by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. They drove 15,000km on their motorcycles from the UK to Capetown Africa on a 3 month trip. My DH has the DVD of the series (& the DVD of their first adventure, Long Way Round) and now he wanted the book, so I got him this one.
 
I'm reading the Summer of Naked Swim Parties....it's entertaining. Light. Set in 1976. Follows a 14-year-old's first experience with love and her embarrassment over her parents' hippy-ish ways and naked swim parties (sounds all too familiar to me!!!).
 
If you liked the Twilight series, I definitely recommend the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. More adult-oriented (with being too adult), fun, short paperbacks that have been like crack for me lately. They're the basis for True Blood, if you've been watching that. :D But much better than the show!!

I also second The Host, and I just finished The Historian, which was pretty darn good.
 
I'm reading Revelations which is the 3rd book in the Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz, they are young adult books with kind of a different take on vampires and are pretty good.
 
I'm currently reading In the Woods by Tana French - REALLY good! I think there's a second book by the same author as well.
 
Just finished The Host (by Stephanie Meyer) a few days ago. Great book.

I went through all of our books in our bookcase to find some new reading tonight. I need to read at night to be able to fall asleep (or at least my psyche thinks so).

I'm reading Three Cups of Tea right now (it's January's book for our book club). I'm really enjoying it. The next book for our book club is Eye of the World by Robert Jordan, which I LOVE. That entire series (The Wheel of Time) is amazing. March's book is Complications: A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Science by Atul Gawande. Haven't read it yet, but it comes highly recommended.
 
I'm reading Deception Point by Dan Brown (the guy who wrote Da Vinci Code)... really good so far.

I have a backlog - the one Im trying to get into is Twighlight - cant get through the 1st chapter yet but Im going to try to stick with it since its had such rave reviews on the boards. I bought the whole series for my tween and she read the 1st one in 3 days. Maybe I just have to focus!
 
I'm reading the Twilight series again, as well as Confessor, last in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind and Labyrinth by Kate Moss.

Oh yeah - I started Inkspell (there is Inkheart and Inkdeath is the 3rd right?)!! Had to return mine to the library since someone put a hold on it - I bought it so I could finish that one - maybe it really isnt a good time for me to get into a book - sigh!
 
I just finished A Rather Lovely Inheritance & A Rather Curious Engagement by CA Belmond. Good books, fun to read.
I'm just re-starting A Year in the World by Frances Mayes (she also did Under the Tuscan Sun, the book is much better than the movie) and I have SPQR XII by John M Roberts waiting, it's a mystery series set in Rome around the time of Ceasar
 
The last book I read was The Book Thief and it was sooo good. One of the best books I've read in a while. I'm putting it on the MUST READ list for all the readers in the family.

I'm just starting The Reckoning it's the third in a Sharon Kay Penman series.
 
Right now I'm reading The Year Of Pleasures by Elizabeth Berg - I'm a few chapters in and it's really good so far. I can tell it'll be one of those books that makes me cry, though. Here's the description:
Betta Nolan moves to a small town after the death of her husband to try to begin anew. Pursuing a dream of a different kind of life, she is determined to find pleasure in her simply daily routines. I'm reading "Wicked". I've heard so much good about this book (and the broadway musical), but man, I'm having trouble getting into this book!! Has anyone read it?
 
I finally read Eat, Pray, Love and absolutely LOVED it. It's quickly became one of my top 5 favorite books I've ever read.

I'm reeading Jane Eyre right now. After that, I'll finish World Without End (Ken Follett.) His book Pillars of the Earth is my second favorite book of all time. (The Red Tent by Anita Diamant is first.)
 
I've read the Memory Keepers Daughter (loved), Glass Castle (loved), Lovely Bones (loved).

I have "A Beautiful Boy" to read and the last 2 books in the Gossip Girl Series waiting @ the Library. I also have Dewey on reserve, the new Wally Lamb book and Edward Sawtale. I reserve books at the library online & they email me when ready to be picked up. Perfect for not having to drag the girls into the Library on the cold winter days!!
 
I just got Dark Harvest today so I haven't started it yet. One of the guys I work with works part-time at Barnes and Noble for the discount, so he just gives me books to read. Love it! I just call him my library and I don't need to look for any, just ask him for a new book and he hands one over. lol

I read Poisonwood Bible that someone recommended on here last summer and it was quite good.
 
my mom brought me Stephen King's The Duma Key. i started it last night. after that, who knows? whatever strikes my fancy in the book aisle at WalMart, lol.

Yes the Host was awesome, but I also just finished reading the Sookie Stackhouse series-sooo good..right now there are 8 of them and a 9th one coming out in May, I think......then I moved on to a couple of other series from the same author--Aurora Teagarden series (there's several of those out with more coming out) and also the Harper Connelly series..I think there's just 3 of those--those 2 are just mysteries but really fun and quick reads

I just finished A Good Woman by Danielle Steel. Very good read... took place in the early 1900's -- around WWI. One of my favorites by her in a long time.

I am reading the uglies and I have the pretties next to read too. So far it is interesting. My SIL recommended it.

And I am rereading Eclipse (well this time I am listening to it on MP3)
