What's everyone reading lately???

I just picked up Dear John and I hope it's good... I have serious issues with books I don't like. lol I finished reading the sookie books again recently just for something easy to read while I am in bed. :)

What are you guys reading?? anything good???

Do textbooks count? Lol im reading an entire new textbook since they revised my new coursebooks and curriculum

No really tho i need to pick up another good book, last i read was the lovely bones

I just finished Dear John (I didn't care for it really...lol..it was a good story but eh..)

Hope you like it Sarah--I didn't like that one either haha I wanna see the movie though..looks cute

I still have The Help on my list..waiting for paperback at this point (feb 9th I think amazon says)

We got that book for my mom, can't wait till she is done with it so I can read it.

Right now I'm reading Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult. I seriously love her books. I thought My Sister's Keeper was a great book too.

have you guys tried any of those book rental places?? like this one:

http://www.bookswim.com/index.html

and seriously Meg...dont' say that! I rarely read like love story serious books. I am all about action...which is so bizarre for me...but I picked this one up hoping it would be fabulous. I am so scared now and totally unmotivated to read it lmbo

Sorry to say but I felt the same way about Dear John! Still read it though! It is a good story.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jen Lancaster books (Bitter is the New Black) and she had a book featured a few months ago on her blog -
I'm Down: A Memoir

Has anyone read this - I think this is my next book

I am currently reading...oh shoot, something by Jodi Picoult. Picture Perfect! I had to go look it up.

I'm kind of a huge book nerd, though my sister is moreso than I am and she supplies me with all kinds of good reads. I would highly recommend "A Thousand Splendid Suns" too! She uses bookmooch.com, and loves it!

I am reading The Bourne Identity. I figured it was high time I read the book my favorite movie is based on.

I am reading I See You Everywhere and it is not that great. I just got a notice from my library that the ebooks I requested are ready. So once I finish this book I will move onto The Book Thief.

I did just finish Pillars of The Earth for the 3rd time while I was waiting for my Nook to be delivered.

I just read Skeletons at the Feast (I liked that one), The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency (I love the tone of this), and the Harper Connelly series by Charlaine Harris (good, but I thought the last book was sort of like her last Sookie Stackhouse- just not well edited and sort of out there with the story line- not pulled together enough).

I just bought The Book Thief, so I am glad to hear everyone likes it.

haven't picked up anything new for a while...i just finished the twilight daga for the 4th time though...LOL:blink:

I'm finally reading the Sookie Stackhouse books, I'm on book #2 and have them all from the library so I'm trying to make my way thru them quickly!

I just finished The Help (awesome book!), The Last Song, The Weight of Silence and Sarah's Key (also excellent). I did read some books my dd was interested in - Crank and Glass....very interesting way to tell a story.

After watching Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I had to go reead the book... and then I started to reead the whole series. So now I'm on a bit of a Potter kick... I seriously had forgotten how much I loved them!

But normally I do read more grown-up books! LOL! I have the first Sookie Stackhouse book on my Kindle, having trouble getting into it though. I also just finished a bunch of Jane Green books (great easy reads if you like british chick lit).

Im not reading anything right now. Im another who did not like Dear John although the movie does look good. I love Nicholas Sparks. I mean he is such an awesome author but I like his earlier books better. Jodi piccoult seriously does not have a bad book. I have read every one of her books. Love her!! I honestly cannot remember what book I read last though. Probably Breaking Dawn. I started reading one of my daughters books...it was made into a movie but I cannot remember the name. She gets mad when I read her books though because I read them in a couple hours and it takes her days sometimes weeks so I "ruin" them for her LOL. I have a few books to read still. The Buffalo Soldier by Bohj Alian and A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly

I'm reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. I'm on book 3 right now and I am totally in love with these books. I thought no series would top Sookie but these already have.....for me at least.

Yes, The Help is excellent. I read it a few months ago and then my hubby read it too. I'm currently reading Blink by Malcolm Gladwell and Dark Lover by J.R. Ward {slightly embarrassed to admit that}. I just finished Don't look Down by Jennifer Weiner and Left to Tell (about the Rwandan Holocaust) ... and several other books. I read a lot.

We were posting at the same time. I just started the first book two days ago and I'm a little over half way through it :)

I've been reading the Immortals Series by Alyson Noel. I'm through with the first three in the series and am just waiting for the 4th to come out this summer. They're a quick, easy read and are pretty good.

I'm going to have to pick up The Book Thief after all of the good reviews. :)

I just finished the Sookie Stackhouse series and loved them. I had tried the 1st book once before and couldn't get into it--not sure why, since I didn't have any problem this time.

I've read the Black Dagger Brotherhood, and I think they vary a lot. There are some I've loved, but others that made me wonder if I should give up on the series. She's writing John Matthew's story next, and that's the one I've been waiting for. I can't wait 'til it comes out!

The Book Thief (LOVE IT)
Poisionwood Bible - (eh.... Just started ...praying it gets better)

I have The Book Thief...I had a hard time getting into it so I'll give it another go.

The Poisonwood Bible...it was just meh...sorry

I'm starting book six tonight in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Totally not like anything I've read before....

I do have Teddy Kennedy's book started...I'm about half way done and I'm really enjoying it.

There is a new political book out this last week or so and I'm dying to get it!

I absolutely LOVED "A Thousand Splendid Suns", and I read "Kite Runner" too, and loved it...my dh tried them and couldn't get into them, but he mostly reads Sci Fi, so maybe that's why.

At the moment, I'm reading I, Alex Cross by James Patterson. Very good story line, I'm enjoying it immensely.

Have you read the rest in the series? I'm a HUGE Alex Cross/James Patterson fan

I'm not reading anything right now. I just finished In Her Shoes, and I liked that.

I want to read the bible this year, but I don't own one and there are SO MANY out there that I don't know which one to get.
