What was the theme of your very first scrapbook layout in the Sweet Shoppe Gallery?

Sweet Shoppe SugarBabe
I think it's fun to go back and look at some of the scrapbook pages I made in the past and see how my style has changed. My first layout in the gallery at Sweet Shoppe is one about me and my husband, Tod. I love the photos showing when we were married and then a recent photo and I love the gorgeous kit and template set by Em of The Nifty Pixel. However, I did notice that my clusters were very sparse. When I first started digital scrapbooking I was told by a friend to just put three flowers together to make a cluster so that's what I did. My clusters were very small. Now I make big clusters unless there isn't room on the layout to make them big. How has your style changed since your first layout in the gallery? What was your first layout in the SSD gallery about?

This was from September 17, 2021. (I had bought kits from SSD before that but didn't really understand about uploading layouts to the gallery. I didn't really understand until I joined by first ct team.)

Disney is the first one in my gallery in 2016, although, I think my older layouts disappeared because I have been here since 2008. I was inactive for a while, so maybe that explains where they went.

Well, I only have 2 layouts in my gallery so they don't really reflect my beginnings as a scrapper. They were posted in 2021 and 2024 and are how I now scrap.

The first one was for a designer challenge and the 2nd one was to show off one of Cheryl's templates and the unusual wedding dress worn by my cousin's daughter.

I very rarely post layouts online anymore although I did quite often in the past at other stores that are no longer around. I just don't share stuff publicly these days. When I scrap it is for me or my family.

My first SSD layout was of my kids and my parents in May 2008:

I was a paper scrapbooker first, so my style very much still leaned that way.

I've since learnt how to shadow and layer better.

From September 2015- Super Heros- my kids' Halloween Costumes. SO fun! I wouldn't say my style has changed too much- I used a Cheryl template & my shadows look pretty good surprisingly!

My oldest boy's senior prom. This was and is very far from my usual style. I was trying to work on my clustering and shadowing at that point in time. I think (hope) I've made some improvements since!

omg!! my very first page I posted here was that of a 2013 summer scrapping from an old designer here, and I used Kristin's kit which was retired already.

My 1st layout posted here is of my girls at a carnival riding rides. My very first digi layout was a portrait of my 4 girls. I followed a printed tutorial from a magazine or something (I know it was printed).

It was me and my husband relaxing in Key Largo

My shadowing and clustering has gotten much better since 2023

My first post was April, 2013. I started digiscrapping sometime in 2012. My style has definitely evolved :)

This is such a fun thread... seeing these old kits and thinking, *blush* I still have that kit, haha.

Here is mine - I can close my eyes and go right back to when I was working on this layout. I started out using software called Making Memories or something like that and wanted different kits than were included in that software. That is when I learned about SSD and Photoshop elements. This was my first layout in Elements using a free cookie decorating template and a kit by Misty Cato.

July 2008 Layout on my kiddo and my sister-in-law!

May 2010 - I did a RAK of a 20 page scrapbook for an online friend. We were in the same month group on pregnancy.org and I created some pages for her and she printed them. I registered in July 2009, so it took me almost a year to post a page after that!

My first page back in 2012 for a Pinterest challenge.

My youngest son and his grandfather playing checkers... I love this photo!

March 4, 2007, I think it must have been right after the gallery officially opened to the public, for the first year or so it was just open to SugarBabes and Designers.

It was of my daughter.

May 2014: My baby who is still the subject of most of my pages even though she's legally an adult in 2 days! **sniff sniff**

Cassie - mine just turned into an adult this month too! HOW??????

It just flew by so fast! :( Everyone says it will but I had no idea just how fast it would really go! She graduated early and has been away at college since January so I "lost" her even earlier than I expected! So sad but so proud of her at the same time!

It's so cool to see how everyone's style has grown and changed over the years!

My first layout here at SSD was March 2016, and featured my dog, Maggie, who has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
